Lets be real here. They'd do it no matter who's in charge.

With loose power lines? No thanks.

You'd want mastadon for that. Lemmy is for following communities. Someone could make their own community if they wanted something for just them.

That's by design though. There's no way to have a federated system and ensure that everything deletes it.

Why would it? FOSS doesn't have the funding that commercial software does.

Also microwaves are only 2.4ghz. Any modern device should have a strong 5ghz connection in what I assume is a cramped apartment.

5ghz also has less interference problems, but it’s not immune.

Microsoft is bringing an update to Copilot Vision for Windows Insiders

Unless you’re in the windows insider program nobody should have this feature yet.

Research undertaken in New Zealand showed that a zebra crossing without other safety features on average increases pedestrian crashes by 28% compared to a location without crossings.

See, that's mostly what I was thinking. "Zebra stripes" make pedestrians feel safe to cross, and have virtually no impact on drivers who can easily just ignore them. But paired with other things they are a good addition, especially since it tells pedestrians where to cross.

Yes, but it’s incredibly slow, wasteful and, unsafe. Companies have tried making hardware that does this at a room level, but have largely failed because it’s so wasteful and slow.

Eevblog has a bunch of videos debunking these things https://youtu.be/2rSQnRV5ztI

Any time I see an intersection I assume there might be people. Downtown where I’m at there’s rarely crosswalks at intersections unless it’s a major through road.

0 tolerance = 0 thought.

The biggest problem is for new users. Once the dust has settled and Wayland is the default for everything (and there's plenty of searchable threads for how to fix X problem) then it will be great. But currently if you're a noob and you install a distro you don't know what either is. If you have this problem do you fix it with X or Y? Choice is great for enthusiasts, but just another hurdle for new users.

Is there any plan to try to fix federation with hexbear.net? Shortly after their domain expired it stopped working, but now that it's back it doesn't seem to have resumed. Does Lemmy even have something in place to fix federation issues when something like this happens?

I have an X61 Tablet and I'd like to get the original Lenovo recovery media for XP tablet edition (I think version 2005) mostly so I can get all of the drivers and functionality working.

I currently have an XP Pro install but that doesn't have any of the special tablet features. And my xp tablet edition install decided it doesn't want to work anymore and BSODs on start, and I don't feel like dealing with the hunt for old drivers.

Does anyone know where or how I can acquire isos or even the actual recovery CDs for this machine?
