There is a general problem in mass psychology where people sitting around a table or in their armchairs try to imagine the impact of a policy without conducting a study or looking at historical results.

Let me present some more historical results: retirees. Do pensioners contribute more or less to society than before they retired? Are they a net contributor or a net drag? A UBI turns everybody into a pensioner.

The two situations are not identical, but they give me pause.

So, we just blame the driver?

Have you looked at official municipal statistics for who is at fault in pedestrian fatalities? Because I did and the yearly reports consistently show the driver being at fault in 75%-80% of the cases.

Take some responsibility people.

Indeed, indeed.

Children running into bears

That is called concern trolling. They don't actually have any concerns about bears, or they would have raised them in a different forum, but they found them to be a convenient plausible excuse against something they didn't want.

Metro shows the price per 100g in the tiniest most illegible font. It's specially hard to read on their new e-ink price tags.

First they scan for CP, but the next time a corrupt authoritarian leader is elected, what will stop them from using that conveniently pervasive infrastructure to silence journalists, dissidents or political opponents?
