Politicizing the topic through the means of tribalism is certainly an objective of interests against the fediverse so undoubtedly we will see more of that happening as unfortunate as that is. There are absolutely parties interested in pushing manufactured division and creating "us vs them" camps. I certainly hope that most users steer away from the quite frankly silly discussions of why one is better than the other. At the end of the day it should simply be a personal choice based on perhaps aesthetics or some other set of minuscule factors rather than politics. In regards to kbin and it's currently limited functionality: many of today's large platforms began in a very similar fashion. I personally enjoy the quirkiness of kbin and my proverbial hat is off to Ernest for the effort he has put into this.

Or a lot more confused as today you can simply say kbin and tomorrow you have to specify which one.

Yes, big time. It feels almost as if half of the comments are bots, propping up spez and crapping on the mods who supported the blackout. Unfortunately, there are still a few subreddits that have no equivalent here just yet and I end up having to revisit reddit to get the info I need on an ongoing basis. I started two communities (Signal Messenger and Amex) here myself in an effort to help with transition but so far there hasn't been much happening on that front. I even went as far as messaging the mods on the /r/ equivalents but none of them wanted to move over, or even give it a shot as a subscriber. Nevertheless, I am not giving up and still feel there is growth to be had. Perhaps once the apps die off on reddit, we will see additional users transitioning.

I was just saying to my spouse this morning how it seems that the smart people have left reddit as there is a discernible drop in the comment quality in some of the communities I frequent. Unfortunately they haven’t even been registered here just yet. I am quitting reddit in a week anyway hopefully by then more of those communities will migrate here. I created two (Signal, Amex), hope others will follow suit.

@Zak8022 Hi I don't own the info so feel free to copy it over if you feel like it. I'll keep this here up to date as it makes sense to me for the info to be on the fediverse rather than outside (I see several github and google drive copies now). There are a few links on reddit point to this post here as well.

@Mirror_I_rorrIMG kbin and lemmy are two different clients (imagine Outlook or Apple Mail) for the same service (the threadiverse, or email in the prior example). Pick one, they federate with each other (cross-pollinate).
