batteries don't like to sit on a charge continuously
I absolutely agree for traditional lithium ion batteries, but for lithium polymer batteries, a middle SoC is best for longevity. As far as I understand, it's better to sit at ~100 SoC than to do full discharge cycles, again unlike older battery tech which absolutely wanted full discharge cycles.
If you wanna be gentle on batteries, it's more about not rapidly charging them rather than doing charge cycles these days. So if the gameplay loop of optimizing your battery SoC is fun: do that, if not: I wouldn't bother

It's very risky move from RBR and it's why they sin more WDC than WCCs recently. And it crumbles if max leaves the team. But it has gotten them some results
If it's super on the nose, it should be very high performance under breaking and the rear end will want to slide out. That makes it super unstable feeling.
I think max is probably leagues above most others with accepting that and working it to his advantage. If it makes you uneasy you probably just don't brake hard or push super hard
I can add: usually a high rake angle, a bit less rear mechanical grip (but more aero grip), which means the car feels even more different at lower speeds than higher. Really light rear ends are very fast and good on tire wear when driven perfectly, but unforgiving
