that's what happens when you start to push your skills to see as far as they'll go

although it seems like you may not have realized that skill is just a function of your natural ability, the people around you who might have taught you (or not) and... time invested

i think it's harder to view your skill as a part of your identity, once you realize that. like, i am very good at soulslikes / monster hunter, which is cool and flashy, but also... i've been playing them for almost ten years now, and games as a whole my entire life: of course i'm good at them

on the other hand, you might struggle to learn something despite your time invested... then it sucks, because you're probably missing something, or just not very naturally inclined towards what you're trying to learn. but you there's nothing you can do about that but seek out teachers and continue to try

at the end of the day, all you can really count as a merit for or against yourself is the time you've invested

...

all that said, we all recognize we each have inherent worth on the basis that we exist and we're alive... right? :)

good! keep not mentioning it. keep that momentum going

(sometimes talking about it makes you lose momentum... )

i've heard some people talk about how mindfulness can be a very stressful or triggering thing to get into, so usually i start by teaching folks distress tolerance / breathing skills. not meant as a critique, but figured i'd just add it here as additional information

i really like this idea! i do similar write ups, maybe i could port some of the stuff i've written over. discord isn't the best place for that sort of thing, anyways LOL

yk, if you would be alright with me sharing it. i think you're intending this to be a shared, collaborative space, right?

y'know, i really can't blow my nose that well. i just end up popping my eardrums or w/e, and stuff doesn't really come out. rinsing my sinuses is way more effective for me, i wonder why that is

LMAO this is the more specialized doctor, i saw an ENT

the saline actually uses a mechanism which i... cannot recall the name of, where, by virtue of the saline having salt in it, the water/mucus of your nasal walls is pulled out, helping with decongestion (and, as an additional example, one can make or acquire extra salty saline, for a larger effect, although this is commonly associated with a mild burning sensation due to the... salt)

which is why a shower or steam bath doesn't do the same thing, altho it certainly does help to have the saline be warm, or for your nasal passages to be warmed by one of those things before using the saline (i commonly use prepackaged saline (cold) in the shower (warm))

i'm much better about cleaning than i used to be, but this is a good reminder that i'm behind on it 😅

i have had the septoplasty, i got it 10 years ago. it helped for a few years, but ultimately returned

this is really interesting. i've only done the test where they make you breathe real hard into the tube; is there another one that tests for this?

also, can i ask what the medication is? the doc wrote me a new one (apparently just a different one for hayfever...), so i'm just curious and like to learn about new medications... but if you're uncomfortable sharing, it's fine, ofc

idk i use emoji all the time, if someone told me they would think i was a girl because of it, i would... look at them like they were fuckin idiots and ignore them LMAO

but i'm quite a bit older, if i had to guess (altho i am being a bit presumptuous here)- this reads like something one would hear from some insecure teenagers who haven't really unpacked gender roles. the concept of "passing" over text message is quite funny, i won't lie

just remind yourself that you are a guy, regardless of your mannerisms or texting style or... whatever. there's no correct way to be a guy, and i would say that being the way you are, especially if others say it's "wrong", is pretty damn manly, imo

you'll find whatever feels right for you, as far as presenting as a guy, from there

well uh, i get an error "cannot complete request", so,

i get the point, but both of the posts there are things that are not only believably true, but i do believe them to some extent, and am only disappointed that they're fake headlines

organizing work, mutual aid, and unionizing work is the new work of seeing and being seen. hell, give it long enough and it might usurp churches as third places
