C'est surtout le "du point de vue évolutif" qui est complètement con. Le jour où on verra des smartphones se reproduire avec modification on pourra éventuellement parler...

Yes. The only thing I receive for professional travel is an email with a PDF. KDE Itinerary is able to read those PDF from K9 on my phone and import the tickets. Very handy in this case!

A French example : when I get train tickets from work, I can't load them on the SCNF mobile app, because they removed the possibility to import tickets not directly sold from them through their interface... 😶

KDE Itinerary being agnostic to all those shenanigans, it's the only mobile app I know able to store such a variety of tickets, ready for me to use them when I travel, without having to print them.

Y a une subtilité importante quand même, c'est que les présidents d'université sont élus. Alors que les recteurs sont nommés. Au-delà de l'autonomie des universités, c'est une différence notable. Bon, certains directeurs d'établissement sont nommés par contre.

Le président d'université, hein. Mais ceci dit, la remarque est la même à l'échelle des universités où les présidents ont de plus en plus de pouvoirs.

Oui, le seul soucis si tu utilises KDE, c'est que le Flatpak donne l'interface basé sur GTK, pas possible d'avoir l'interface Qt... 🙁

On a un peu la même chose avec ma femme, je me demande s'il y a pas un truc avec la version Tumbleweed de LibreOffice. J'ai l'impression que ça marche mieux avec la version Flatpak, tu peux essayer pour voir : https://flathub.org/apps/org.libreoffice.LibreOffice

As a whole? Basically none. It's advantageous for the males though, it's something that evolved in a context of sexual conflicts (males and females have contradictory evolutionary optima). Here the males advantage is to have a many mates as possible while the female is advantaged by being choosy regarding its mate(s).

Evolution is not always about optimising things for a whole species.

OK, so I'm a heavy user of the native pipe in R which goes like this "|>". This is particularly painful to type on French keyboard, so on Plasma X11, I had a little script using xdotools to input |> when I pressed Ctrl+$. Very comfortable!

With the switch to Plasma 6, I'm now using Wayland because one needs to live with one time, I guess. But this means I lost the ability to use xdotools to do that.

I tried wtype, which seemed easy, but it doesn't seem to work in Plasma (and is not maintained any more?).

I tried ydotools, which is harder to set up (it requires running a deamon as root, which is not convenient and also defeats the security purpose of Wayland I guess? Maybe not, I'm no expert). The problem with ydotools is that it doesn't seem to be aware of the keyboard layout, and since my keyboard is French AZERTY, it outputs gibberish instead of, well, |>.

So, here's my question for you guys: do you know of any other (if possible, easy as wtype is/was) way to setup a string input associated to a shortcut?

Hi,

I would like to reorganise a big calendar into several smaller ones, e.g. based on the categories of events (say categories "Birthday" would be moved to a "Birthday" calendar and so on). I know it could some up with some highly convoluted awk script to filter the very unfriendly ICS format, but I thought I could simplify my life and use the work of some nice person who certainly had come up with a tool to manipulate ICS files (GUI or CLI), right?

It turns out, I can find many small scripts or Github repos named "icsfilter" or the like, but nothing seemingly quite established.

That's why I turn to this great community: anybody who was confronted to the same problem and could recommend a nice utility to filter ICS files?

Eh beh... Je suis d'autant plus content qu'on ait réussi à acheter juste avant l'inflation, plutôt que de voir son épargne fondre à cause de décisions de ce type!
