That is running the official API - it just hasn't been approved/merged yet, so other instances don't have it.

Yeah, the way it works with groups is not great. There are news feeds on Mastodon which are probably a better option to follow from there.
I assume you're following from Mastodon? Unfortunately that's how Mastodon works with groups - you see boosts of every single comment on your feed.
You're better off with a Lemmy or Kbin account if you want to follow groups.
(and for the sake of clarity, this news account you're following isn't a bot - it's a group)
And, actually, I don't think it's working as I'm still seeing users from that instance in my feed.
Pretty obvious that was the case, but good to have it confirmed.
100% they didn't want it there, but it had to look like an accident.
I used to use K9 long time ago, but had issues with notifications not working properly. I've been using something not FOSS which was OK but I wasn't 100% happy with. After reading about FairEmail on another thread the other day, I've now adopted that and so far it is working great. It has way too many options though!
Florence + The Machine are ace 🧡
Some have maps which I enjoy watching. When you can't see the land below you can at least see which random tiny islands you are flying over.
Even a "go to blahblah.gov.uk" which then redirects to householdresponse would be an improvement.
Happy birthday! Do something you enjoy and/or treat yourself to something frivolous.
"Very complicated and costly endeavour". Make them do it. They need to be taught that "ooh, it seems to have caught fire after some dirt heaps appear to have fallen onto the access road" and "oh dear, the contractor got confused and knocked the whole thing down instead of just the unsafe bit", are not acceptable practices. They'll have to spend a large amount of time and money and will end up with still have a building on their land that they don't want there. Do it.
Have a look at TVHeadEnd, I think that does what you want.
