I think this is appropriate here!

The comedians shoot the breeze in Wales. Plus, Ruth Wilson’s haunting BBC thriller continues. Here’s what to watch this evening

A "padlocking ceremony" has taken place at the site of The Crooked House in Himley, near Dudley - exactly four weeks after the pub went up in flames.

More than 25,000 bricks were salvaged from the site after a deal was struck between the demolition teams and the 'Save the Crooked House' campaign group.

They were then placed in two metal containers, with one key to the padlock in the hands of campaigners, and the other, is in the hands of the contractors.

Campaigners said the padlocking was necessary to ensure they are not touched until they are satisfied a rebuild is going to take place.

"We wanted to protect them [the bricks]," says Paul Turner who is the leader of the campaign group. "We want them to stay there until we're in a position to rebuild the Crooked House."

The UK could pull out of the international energy charter treaty if attempts to reform it fail, the energy minister, Graham Stuart, has said.

The energy charter treaty (ECT) is a system of secret courts that enables companies to sue governments over policies that would cut their future profits. Companies have sued over phasing out coal-fired power stations, ending offshore oil drilling and banning fracking, with some receiving large taxpayer-funded payouts.

Only available in Japan at the moment, but posted due to the "what happens to the battery? They only last {insert silly low number of years here}" question/comment EV owners hear.

Scrolling to top (rabbitea.rs)
submitted 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) by floppy@rabbitea.rs to c/lemmyconnect@lemmy.ca

I'm getting weirdness trying to scroll to top on the latest beta. It seems to endlessly scroll the same articles and never reaches the top. Also, when I hit the refresh option from the menu it used to go to the top and no longer does - I have to go and find the Frontpage option in the sidebar to get to the top (quite laborious). Can we get a "back to top" button? Or maybe a "go to my default page" button on the top bar?

Bankhead was an old mining town on the Cascade Mountain (Alberta, Canada).

The area's now in Banff National Park and the town is a tourist attraction, so it's not quite as abandoned as some of the places posted here.

Boring (discuss.tchncs.de)

Romesh Ranganathan and Tom Davis host a fun, refreshing reboot of the classic show. Expect charm, dodgy sets and ludicrously difficult challenges

You missed the C16 version! It's nothing like the others, I added a couple of words here / !plus4@retrolemmy.com

I think there are a few game specific ones. I run !lemmings@lemmings.world

Unfortunately I think this one will have to remain unattributed.

For the sake of completeness, the artist is likely to be one of the following; Daisuke Satake, Hiroshi Nakamura, Masanori Waragai, Masahiro Miki, Masanao Katayama, Mai Hatsuyama, Yusuke Kato, Ryuji Baba, Kota Tonaki, Kento Koga, Tetsu Takahashi, Tsutomu Kitazawa, Wataru Kami, Yusuke Oda, Emi Kaneko

I did find a list of artists on https://www.creativeuncut.com/art_bloodborne_e.html but they aren't attributed to any particular artwork - and the one I posted isn't here.

I just noticed this too. It used to work!

Yes! I just found it in my photos.

Windows 7 was still supported back then.

The official art book doesn't appear to give the artist's name either 😕 https://archive.org/details/artbook-Bloodborne_Official_Artworks

Consider me rebuked. I will remember this for future posts.

I believe it's to do with hand cleanliness. When you enter, you push the door as your hands are dirty (maybe shove it with your arm or something), then when you leave your hands are (supposed to be) clean so you pull the door as it's a nice clean handle to grab.

I don't get it either, but that's what I've heard as the reason.

I stayed in Japan a few years back. The room was effectively bunks, but the top bunk was accessed via a small cabinet, and was a flat bed area with no side barrier of any sort. Made me quite nervous but managed to survive without falling out of bed! Even put a lamp or something to the side of me in the hope that if I knocked it off it would wake me up before I fell.

Source is https://bloodborne.fandom.com/wiki/Cathedral_Ward - I can't find an artist name.

(and thanks, not my server but had to sign up there when I saw it 🙂)

And colours! So many colours.

The material's always nicer too.
