There is a mechanism to trigger a by-election for cases like this - in fact, there was a news article just the other day where this happened elsewhere: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-scotland-politics-66376464

!specialized_instances@kbin.social might be a better place to promote this?

That was unexpected.

codenames.game - I think it supports the duel (2 player) version.

Lots of 2 player games on yucata.de too (and BGA which has already been mentioned)

There are loads of other apps you can interact with too, check out fediverse.party

!android@lemdro.id is the big Android one.

Partly that, and partly because I wound it down when I moved house, and never restarted (even through lockdown)

This looks like something @scarfolk@mastodonapp.uk would print.

I need to do mine. I have loads of low value ones from Postcrossing days, so that'll be fun for somebody (possibly me if I need to specify the value)

Somebody on here suggested Weawow, so I've been using that recently, along with BBC Weather and Openweather.

Not for girls!

IanVisits is largely a blog about London, but of course that's no excuse for my negligence. I've edited it into the title.

If I go to the website it shows only one as expected.

On Lemmy's standard interface there's a crosspost option, which copies the current post to a new community. Can we have this feature added to Connect please?

I keep missing this feature. When using Android's share option, there isn't an option to share to Connect. It should pop up asking which community to share to, and pre-fill the fields.

A series of climate records on temperature, ocean heat, and Antarctic sea ice have alarmed some scientists who say their speed and timing is unprecedented.

Bernard Cribbins give us an introduction to Prestel. With thanks to @citifax for the recording, and @2019Casandro for the decoding.Played back here using R.T....

This is the current favourite 🙂

Lemmings started life as a simple animation back in August 1989 when DMA Design had just moved into their first office...

I found out about and got hold of these during lockdown.

It is criminal that on a service called #Lemmy there wasn't a community for #Lemmings. Then I noticed a server called lemmings.world and, obviously, had to create said community on that server.

Lemmings@lemmings.world

@lemmings@lemmings.world

!lemmings@lemmings.world

I usually find searching for the URL and then searching for the community name works best on Lemmy. On Kbin searching for the address with the @ normally works first time - and clicking on the ! version ought to work too.

If a community isn't known to the instance, Connect shows a blank page with "could not find a community with that name". I'm on a small instance, so clicking new communities tends to lead to this error rather than showing the community. (tbf the web interface for Lemmy pretty much does the same thing) If I first search for the full URL on the web interface, Connect will then find it. Is it possible for Connect to work around this issue, by maybe doing a search for the full URL and retrying before showing this error?

Nobody had created a Bedfordshire community so I've set this up. Just trying to work out how to moderate across instances as I don't have a personal account on feddit.uk
