No właśnie widziałem, że próbujesz się pałować z telegramowymi Meshtastikowcami :D podziwiam determinację, bo jak mi ktoś od czasu do czasu podeśle jakieś ich wypociny to aż głowa boli.
Fajnie słyszeć, że to jednak potrafi działać!

I have a PinePhone and the article is on point.
My understanding is: Android is here for many years now. When it was just released I got the HTC G1 and it was only barely better than what Mobian + Phosh present right now. Add to that many years of polishing by some of the most powerful corporations out there and you end up with Android as it is today.
Mobile Linux made unbelieveable progress. It is, in my opinion, almost as usable as a dumb phone as first Androids were. The problem is as others have pointed it out, we need people working tirelessly on thankless polishing of everything around it. It's hard without throwing money at that issue.

Most of the time it requires opening the switch and connecting to the serial port that's inside more or less exposed. Nothing especially difficult, but can be a little intimidating at first. It's not easy to fail, though, and those switches are so cheap that even if you manage to break it somehow then the loss is not great.

Personally I'm using Fedora and it's as painless for me as it gets. I don't think Linux desktop can get any smoother than that.
As far as I know the Fedora Workstation (with Gnome) is really polished. I'm personally using KDE, which - being KDE - has a rough edge here and there, but it's getting so much better with each upgrade that I'm really impressed now.

Kilkukrotnie próbowałem odpalić to z dwoma urządzeniami leżącymi kilka centymetrów od siebie na biurku. Pierwszy problem był taki, że aplikacja na komórkę która sterowała urządzeniami absolutnie nie chciała się z nimi parować. Da się to jednak obejść - urządzeniami można też sterować za pomocą komputera podpinając je do portu szeregowego. Nie jest to przyjemne, ale działa.
Niedawno (no, kilka miesięcy temu) dodana została opcja, gdzie urządzenie wystawia po wifi stronę internetową, za pomocą której można je obsługiwać. Strona ta... opiera (lub opierała się wtedy, kiedy ją testowałem) się na JSie, który musi być pobrany z internetu. Tak więc pozdrowienia dla osób chcących korzystać z tego w sytuacji, kiedy internet nie działa.
No i tutaj dochodzimy do drugiego problemu - urządzenia generalnie rzecz biorąc nie były w stanie nawiązać ze sobą łączności, chociaż były kawałeczek od siebie. Próbowałem również je od siebie trochę odsuwać żeby upewnić się, że odbiorniki się nie "zatykają", ale to nie pomagało. Będę musiał spróbować ponownie, ale obecnie nie mam nadziei na to, że coś się uda.
Jako wisienkę na torcie polecam zapoznać się z polską społecznością meshtasticową zgromadzoną na telegramie. Może z odpaleniem płytki nie pomogą, ale za to są na bieżąco z najmodniejszymi teoriami spiskowymi 😉
Podsumowując, to nie jest gotowy projekt, i ciężko mi powiedzieć, kiedy stanie się używalny.
Szczerze, to mam wrażenie, że Meshtastic jest dość... wybredny w kwestii temu, komu i kiedy chce działać.
Reticulum brzmi fajnie, i od dłuższego czasu miałem w planach pobawienie się tym. Najbardziej chyba podoba mi się możliwość "rozmowy" za pośrednictwem drukowanych kodów QR 😀
