this is so much better than the winning submission that they based it on. i was curious about the motivation of the person who created it so did a little digging. Original submission that was selected was White/Green/Blue with a nato star.
Tech pays significantly more than $40k in india (at least in cities like Bengaluru) if levels.fyi is anything to go by. 25th percentile of sr software developers is $38k, 90th % is $108k. So seems like a typical mid-career white collar worker could be making in the $40k+ range? These people are probably a very small % of the overall population though.

i dont think life in india is that much cheaper than in the US where $40k has you living like a US multimillionaire... ive heard houses there are still like a $100k+. I guess what I'm saying is these servants are probably more like slaves.
I get that they're trying to keep the scope limited to documenting the amount of violent posts on r/NoFap and trying to come to some conclusion about whether or not this is due to sexual frustration, but they do drift into some speculation outside of the stated scope, "A second potential explanation for violent posts in NoFap is that the Reddit platform promotes violent posts by providing a high level of user anonymity with lax content moderation (Brown et al. Citation2018)". So why don't they speculate on the obvious - the control forums they chose have earnest self-help motivations but r/NoFap is rooted in a reactionary conspiracy theory?
This site is really small so the nature of it can change pretty dramatically with just a small number of users coming or going. I suppose that is to say that nothing in life is static so enjoy it while it lasts. Change is inevitable and there’s not a lot you can do about it. The new effortposters arent the same as the old effortposters.
