IDK, how software fetches profile info is implementation dependent, so you'd have to dive into the source code or wait for him to post and see if you get it.

And you can see in my photo that I’ve followed Dansup but his profile is still not showing any posts or even a profile picture.

His last post was 4 days ago so there hasn't been anything new enough to send to you. Try following his Mastodon account, he uses it a lot more.

I also have several posts that predate my server in the global feed from accounts I have not followed.

Someone you followed may have boosted them, old posts will show up if the boost happens after you follow them.

Holy shit, you're right. Well that has just plummeted my trust in I.

God, those posts are annoying. The entire point of LLMs is to be non-deterministic, it's going to produce some dismissive responses sometimes.

Average AO3 user.

Lemmy 0.20 will support comment images the way Mastodon/Frendica does them.

It’s called news syndication, papers use it to share knowledge that they themselves didn’t discover with others.

Reuters does apparently offer a content licensing service, so I suppose they could be using that.

Just because you only know western sources does not make everything else a scam.

I didn't call it a scam because I hadn't heard of it, I called it scammy because of the 'Disable Firefox Strict Mode' banner. Perhaps scammy was the wrong word, but going to a website I've never heard of to be badgered about foregoing my privacy and paying a subscription on content the website didn't even produce doesn't inspire trust. Also, just because a company is well established doesn't mean it can't be scammy, tabloids here in the UK have recently adopted a 'Reject & Pay' cookie policy that is straight up a scam.

Edit: How did I link to a Sabaton song, god my clipboard sucks.

Finally, an argument for nuclear war! (I'm allergic to cats)

Over lines on words? Some people really need to get a hobby.

I don't know if this is worst or better than those numerous Wordpress sites that's just the author writing up their Twitter feed.
