In 2022, Daniel Pryor, then head of research at the Adam Smith Institute think tank, warned that any tech-savvy teen would likely be able to circumvent restrictions, while adults entering their details stood every chance of being exposed in the event of a data breach.

Can't believe the Tories have got me agreeing with the Adam Smith Institute.

I'm not saying that these, or remakes generally, are bad(I've even been thinking of picking up the DS remake). I just don't think they should be contenders for GOTY.

Why are two remakes on this? It's not like this year has been short on good releases.

Chrome, and browsers based on it, currently account for more than three quarters of web traffic. This gives Google a huge amount of power over the web and how people are able to interact with it. Google is also a company who's primary business is advertising and surveillance; this means they have every incentive to curtail your ability to stop websites from spying on you and force you to use the web on their terms. They're currently exercising this power with the rollout of Manifest V3, where they're severely limiting the functionality of content blocking extensions like uBlock Origin.

Checking if the user is using Firefox is pretty easy:

CSS.supports('(-moz-user-input: none)') // only returns true in FF

Yeah, it should be six.

Potential hot take: I actually like Lotus. It feels like the mark they missed on Yokai, which felt very disjointed. Yeah, its lyrics are embarrassingly bad, even by metal standards. But it has this je ne sais quoi vibe to it. The best way I can describe it is the album just gives off hype, which the lyrics try their damn hardest to kill. That's not to say the vocals are bad, I think they complement the instrumentals very well. I just wish they were in a different language or something so I didn't have to understand them.

But I'm very happy to see them go back to their slam roots, definitely a sound I missed from them.

Cis woman? It does include some intersex people, but honestly when do you need to know someone's chromosome makeup in everyday life?

continuing to ensure some single-sex services and places could only be accessed by biological women.

Can we talk about how stupid the phrase 'biological women' is? Like, are trans women robots or something? And why is it put in unchallenged while gender dysphoria gets scare quotes?

Also, it's so depressing that something Theresa May proposed has become too left-wing of a policy for Starmer and his Labour Party.

GTK currently has a CSS extension that lets you define named colours with @define-color.
