@OmegaMouse Sofirn SC21 Pro, Olight Baton 3, or anything else with the same form factor as the SC21. Yes, the SC21 Pro is 1000 lumens on max, which is nice to have for brief use. The user interface is intuitive, but gives you many extra settings if you wish and the brightness is completely controllable.

USB-C charging, replaceable, standard, non proprietary battery (16340), bidirectional pocket clip (can use with hat) that sits comfortably in any pocket without poking out. A solid light.

@MentalEdge @SirToxicAvenger I carry a large capacity thumb drive.

Its rotating mechanism is already getting scratchy so I'm not sure about the physical quality, but I'm very comfortable having it in my wallet, not sure about my keychain.

I have ventoy on it, so it's a normal thumb drive with a few useful files, but can also boot linux isos, which I have a couple

@bwrsandman @Metal_Zealot As a privacy advocate, this is generally good practice especially since what you post online is likely permanent.

However, people are free to not do so and we gotta just politely let people know it's good practice, rather than "omg dude someone is going to break into your house now" which can be easily refuted

@Twitchy1 Fair enough! You've clearly thought through your own needs and settled on what works best.

Just offering advice. Only mentioned money because some people use that logic to cut corners. But a SAK is a SAK, all are a good choice.

@Twitchy1 @yA3xAKQMbq personally I think a passable flathead and philips head are good components of an EDC - with the rambler you get the best goddamn philips there is without carrying a much bigger SAK

But the biggest improvement - the blade opens away from the key ring, instead of towards it. Don't discount that

For something you carry daily, can you not justify the $11? Most of us here aren't struggling to the point that that money makes any meaningful difference

@Thanatos931 @clark Worth noting that all of this is dependent on housing being attainable. Here in Victoria, :canparrot: rent for a room is often $1000CAD - nobody gets their own place unless they work full time, and well above minimum wage.

Your best bet in this situation is to get a room in a house full of people you like being around, and stay there as long as possible. If you've got a place to yourself, stay there. If you can live healthily with your parents, stay there.

@C4d @scytale It's nice when people actually know how to take care of a knife. It's WAY MORE IMPORTANT to know how to cook, shop, and plan meals, but there are two basic things you should know:

- Don't drag the blade along the fucking cutting board! Stop it. Use the back (spine) instead when pushing food off
- Swipe it along the honing rod at a 15-30 degree angle every now and then when you notice it feeling sluggish or dull - look it up if you're not sure

@waterbogan @YoBuckStopsHere Genuinely curious, how the fuck would we enforce such a law? How many children will be hidden and illegitimate because they were born to someone not allowed to conceive?

I suppose child protective services or your local equivalent exists for this reason - you could expand their ability to take kids away from birth onwards if the parents meet those definitions.

@fcSolar These are good additions to the existing constitution.

One thing I would like to add in terms of IP and Patent law is that you are free to reproduce Patented and otherwise protected physical items to any end, provided you make no profit in doing so.

This, coupled with 3D printing and future manufacturing tech, creates the foundation for a library/sharing/anarchic economy
