They are allowed to exist, but they don't need to advertise for them.

Especially in the place where casual people go to sign up. Can you imagine someone picking a random server and then suddenly seeing that shit? They would stop using lemmy completely.

Idk why people use Zoom. The user experience is just all bad. I've effectively moved my entire work team to using Google Meet instead.

Also, regarding the AI stuff - freakin yikes.

I was using Connect, and am now using Sync.

To be honest, I don't remember the specifics of Jerboa. I remember it feeling very utilitarian though. Not terrible for some people, I understand that. It just felt like it was designed by programmers, if that makes sense.

I prefer a more white-space centric design. Cards, material design, with gesture based controls. Connect actually does that well, but I think Sync might be coded ~~better~~ differently, because it feels a lot more smooth. No jankiness. It doesn't feel like a web app.

I kinda threw a lot of concepts out there, hopefully some of that made sense haha.

Also, I don't mean to say that people who like Jerboa are somehow wrong - you like what you like and I'm glad you have something that you like :D.

Hi dad, what is even a printer in the grander scheme of things? Isn't all digital data physical in the minds eye anyway? Why print when it is already conceptualized? It's the same thing!

Fuck yeah! Congrats on doing the thing!

It's all good dude. You are right, it has been used in the past to discredit people. I think there is an argument to be had that in most instances, the label was applied for good reason, but I wouldn't go as far as to say that it was correct 100% of times. Kinda like the label "Nazi." Honestly that is thrown around so much that it starts to lose it's meaning! (Perhaps that is the intent...?)

Hope you have a good weekend. 👍
