They will try, where I live in the Lot France you see a lot of guys and gals trying to compensate for something by driving Ram 1500's and F150's. I truelly do not get how to get around considering most villages have not changed much since the 1800's.

Considering that the Dutch were below average before the second world war, I think your hypothesis is wrong. I think they were just compensating for being tiny during that time.

As much as I want to joke that it is the year of the Linux desktop, I think it is mostly because the younger you are the less likely you are to have a pc (so Windows, Mac, Linux and BSD for the dozens of you).

As far as I can see most of the time people use their phone for everything and only touch a pc for work or if they have a hobby that requires the use of a pc (gaming, digital art, music, programming, etc...).

I do agree with you that work from home is nice. I am not commenting on that what I am commenting on is that according to her the best bit is total social isolation. Because the way she wrote the tweet implies she stays at home alone with no contact to the outside world.

That is not what I am saying, what I am referencing is her saying you can go days without human contact. Implying she doesn't hangout with anyone.

As much as people act like they don't need contact with other humans, it has been shown to be absolutely necessary for mental health and brain health.

Well it does have a major impact, less cars -> less congestion -> less polution. But it has to work in tandem with other changes such as lowering driving speed increasing public transport network with emphasis on network, mandating tighter control on polution. You could say that the bicycle lanes are an indication of a change in attitude towards car only transportation.
