It's uncannily true, going back and watching interviews...

Agreed, except that Federalist Merrick Garland only tried hard enough to put on a show. He's in on this, too.

"I am altering the Constitution. Pray I don't alter it further. No, really, I'm the President and I'm ordering you to pray, with the Court's backing."

FREE SPEECH! FREE SPEECH! unless it's something I don't like

For driver problems, I've always had good luck with Glenn Delahoy's Snappy Driver Installer Origin but I don't know if the packs have VR drivers. Your problem could be USB drivers, too... I believe it uses BitTorrent to get the driver packs, just so you are aware (use a VPN like ProtonVPN if that worries you).

I saw newer Nvidia cards have a USB port designed for VR, you probably would have tried that, if you have it...

Power issues: Make sure your USB card has its power supply cable plugged in if it needs one; may not be getting enough power through the PCI-Express port alone (although in that case it probably wouldn't have worked before...)

Rant: I fix electronics for a living and have something of a retrocomputer museum, many machines my age (40+ years) and the majority still work with only minor expected repairs (capacitors). Feeling vested in fighting against throwaway culture and forced obsolescence when realizing how environmentally taxing electronics are.

Meta's a multibillion dollar company, keep harassing them until you get your money's worth! 😅

This can kill; I know someone who died of carbon monoxide poisoning due to a clogged exhaust. It ventilates away if the vehicle is in motion but they were idling.

pouet.net is the demoscene Smithsonian. Feels good running the good stuff on real hardware that I've accumulated from thrift stores, rummage sales, and Craigslist (remember that?) over the years.

The longer that friends stay over, the more hardware I pull out, and they get subjected to the likes of Eon by The Black Lotus on Amiga 500 and Area 5150 by CRTC & Hornet on IBM 5160. I think they got 1,000 composite video colors out of the original IBM CGA Graphics Card and sampled music playing through the PC speaker on a 4.77MHz i8088. 😂

I should start a computer museum but I have no money and I don't think there's any money in it. I've considered doing an event at my local downtown old-timey theater that reopened several years back... They will rent it out for stuff like that.

I love showing people scene demos running on my PAL C64, then seeing their reaction when I tell them that the CPU clock is 985 kiloHertz.

There's too many good ones but the most famous may be Edge of Disgrace by Booze Design in 2008.

Meta Quest software updated automatically and after that I was getting weird disconnect messages, a black screen, and static

Did you tell that to Meta support? 😬
