I opened my Master System controller (Model 3020) and verified that there are no resistors or components, and the Sega's +5V pin (pin 5), and the C64's +5V pin (pin 7) ~~are the two wires that are not connected to anything~~ do not even have pins or wires in the cable. So this particular pad is safe. Other pads may be wired differently!

Dragoniscience. Seems basically useless; you can cast any spells from hand for free these days by milling or discarding Omniscience and bringing it back on turn 3 or 4 with Abuelo's Awakening.

Unlike Omniscience, this lets you free cast from zones other than your hand when combined with, say, red's common "temporary draw" effects ("Exile the top N cards of your library. Until end of turn, you may play them.")
