i guess depends on the cutoff (gatekeeping if you will) for musician. Being able to play wonderwall? or full time job and pay rent and all bills from performing/writing?

Brownie is classic, brought photography to the masses, it had fixed shutter speed(1/50s), fixed focal length(wide), fixed focus (to infinite) and aperture (narrow), so you would use it for daylight, all in focus photos, but at least was affordable.
