maybe people should think about adopting other economic system
How exactly does one do that?

What are the bad faith laws in the US like?
Like the rest of what passes as law in the USA, they probably apply to the poor but not the mighty rich pharma corps
I’m really curious where this concept that the government is spending tons of money on drug R&D at publicly funded universities is coming from.
It comes from reality
Onasemnogene abeparvovec, developed by the US biotechnology startup AveXis, which was acquired by Novartis in 2018, is based on research conducted at the Institut de Myologie in France.
The Institut de Myologie in France is a nonprofit org that funds itself mostly from a yearly telethon and government funding... This would be you
Novartis Gene Therapies, until 2020 known as AveXis, is a biotechnology company that develops treatments for rare neurological genetic disorders. It was founded in Dallas, Texas, United States in 2012 by John Carbona after reorganizing a company called BioLife Cell Bank founded by David Genecov and John Harkey. Work done at Nationwide Children's Hospital in the laboratory of Brian Kaspar was licensed to AveXis in October 2013. Unusual for the time, Nationwide Children's Hospital, in addition to upfront and milestone payments, also took an equity position in AveXis.
The Nationwide Children's Hospital is a nationally ranked pediatric acute care teaching hospital located in the Southern Orchards neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio. The hospital has 673 pediatric beds and is affiliated with the Ohio State University College of Medicine
See? At least in part, the money for the start up that D the drug, based on the R France publicly provides, came from the Ohio State University which also receives public funding
As always with Capitalism... Socialise the costs, privatize the profits
This is the truth ^
Well think about if everybody did do that at the same time. Canceled Netflix, stopped going to Starbucks, stop shopping a certain places.
It's impossible to organize... More importantly, the government would bail them out because they are too big to fall
Maybe just for one week. What if everybody had enough gas in the world they could skip a day or two of getting gas.
Again, impossible to organize and completely useless.... By the end of the week the oil companies would be whole anyway. What do they care if they have a revenue dip for 3 days followed by a revenue bump as everybody ran out of gas and had to fill up again ?
Absolutely... I've already reshaped my budget the best I can to brace for the next 4 years..
If we are lucky he'll only get a minority but doubt it
Pretty much... Trudeau has been the embodiment of mediocrity but then PP and whatever forces turned that into a meme
I guess dying is the only option they care for people to have
I'm like you OP, a fellow Canadian
And we should be worried... We are governed by children and, as such, the company they keep is extremely influential
We are about to elect a PM who has never had a real job outside of government and, somehow, has no political record to speak off.
PP has been leader of the opposition for years now and still has not proposed anything, shown any solution, discussed any alternate path to improve anything.
Like Trump, all he does is lie to the camera and play victim
The state said the award will be reduced to $475,000 under its law that caps damages.
Of course there is a law for capping damages... So, in a nutshell, nothing will change... It's cheap to abuse humans so why bother
$350
