Not sure if the comparison is apt: I think the lemmies in that second panel have a celebration party planned in the case a Trump assassination succeeds.

Funny how you guys have latched onto Gaza like shit on velcro, but have not had a single thing to say about Sudan, Myanmar, and the Uighur’s being ethnically cleansed.

My government is not supplying weapons to those other conflicts, of course I care more about the one that me and the people around me have more ability to stop. There's no merit to whining about the world, the point is to change it, and I have worked with people to disrupt weapons shipments to the Zionist Regime, just like the union movements before me did with shipments to Apartheid South Africa and Imperial Japan.

According to tankies, both sides are liberal.

That's according to political science in general, including Wikipedia^[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conservative_liberalism]. The US is a liberal democracy.

Political scientists evaluate all politicians in the United States as liberals in the academic sense.[28] In general, rather than the Democratic Party, which is close to social liberalism, the Republican Party is evaluated as a conservative-liberal party.

lemmy.world does not appear to be blocked in China [1][2]. It seems to just be lemmy.ml and hexbear.net (e.g. not .world, lemmygradm sh.itjust.works, etc.)

Albanese is basing the ‘truthiness’ of his claim on the difference between selling weapons and selling weapons components.

In fact, some of those components are only made in Australia. We are a critical part of the war machine.

If they've read the history section, there's a solid chance.

Yeah I assumed "high seas" just meant the waves were big, not "high" as in hundreds of kilometres upwards. Well we'd better be careful where we shine laser pointers if this all decides to happen.

In a Canberra press conference, Albanese said Plibersek was “very positive” about her move from environment.

Yeah I'm glad they're leaving too. (Not that I have more faith in their replacement)

I can’t recall they’re being a minister or special envoy for men’s health before. Is this a first?

As far as I can tell, yes. It's a new position and I see no evidence of any similar one before it.

Honestly, about bloody time - any gender study student worth their salt should be able to tell you a few of the issues uniquely facing men and how they impact society. The implied ideas that men are just the default, or that mens issues are just common sense to the man-dominated parliament, or that patriarchy doesn't hurt men too, are all harmful to our society.

Fun little USA fact: the feminist movement played an core role in updating the FBI definition (used in statistics) of 'rape', which now acknowledges male victims as a result of their campaign. Men's liberation and feminism have plenty of shared interests and succeed best as parallel and complementary movements, or where applicable, as one umbrella movement.

The crap I've heard Zionists say to anti-Zionist Jews, this is right on the money.

I always love ABC's interactive visualisations. They're usually well-made, and usually aren't just tacked on jiggling keys.

(obligatory shout-out to explorable explanations^[wiki]^^[collection]^, a similar concept)

Now we all love a good chuckle at Clive Palmer's money thrown down the drain, but spare a ha-ha for Rinehart's $500,000 in donations to Liberal parties.

It's pretty funny that Gina asserts, or perhaps even believes, that the typical Aussie wants to cut government wastage more than Rinehart wastage.
