i dont feel that its quiet, more that people have settled in, the users that stuck with masto use it religiously ~~just like how people used twitter~~

Jerboa supports lemmy and I'm not sure if they plan to implement kbin support, but it would be nice

I'm pretty sure the .35 crashes were because instances weren't updated to 0.18.0 yet, I haven't had any problems using it on lemmy.ca

The hot algorithm was actually broken, but lemmy 0.18.0 came out today and instances are starting to update - once your instance updates, install jerboa 0.35 n you’ll notice the difference

I haven't read any of these words in years and I'm kind of upset you made me remember their existence

yep, lemmy.ca was like this when i first started browsing (the 404s) but the more everyone uses it, the better the site gets

you are working really really hard in these comments defending a platform thats pretty arguably indefensible when it comes to both privacy and basic UX

every thing discord does at this point is to increase numbers on a chart and make an accountant happy

not enough people here? lemmy instances total are close to a million and that isn't even including kbin users

also, what you said about the sign up process is entirely because of the influx of new users right now - of course its not good UX but with the community beehaw wants to foster, they need that application and they're 4 people accepting all of them!

be reasonable and accept that this site is young! it has not had the decade of development that reddit has behind it! things are weird and still broken and that is okay, the community adapts to its quirks

Lemmy is not ran by tankies, even if it may be developed by one - if the lead devs go off the rails, someone can always fork it and continue development elsewhere; and if any instance goes off the rails it can be defederated (and this is already happening!)
