To me, the smartphone is mostly a tool to find out what trains are running and how I can get home. It also does some XMPP communication. I rarely call, but I do listen to some podcasts and music.
That's why I'm... befuddled people look at their devices so much.
What use can a tool have if you use it that much?
That article is weird. Sure, it has become harder, but it's not impossible, yes it is sensible to use technology in a mindful way, but it is a weird idea to give the phone to someone else to pretend to be you. Also, imagine someone less skilled in IT security uses your phone and gets you malware. Ugh. So much wrong there. Why..? wtf

I will get interested if there's mainline kernel support or at least some work on it. I don't see the point of buying another phone that's basically coming with a death sentence out of the box making me unable to get patches once the ancient downstream kernel is no longer maintained.
While the healthcare system certainly has to be improved in many ways, it does not amplify depression in itself.

US government sucks, but that does not mean you suck. You're probably fine. I mean, you know that country is run by idiots, I'd worry more if you were fine with that... Anyway...
If you're taking meds, consider asking a doctor whether the dosage is right, incorrect dosages can lead to feeling depressed. Don't experiment, see a doctor, it's all just brain chemistry and can probably be sorted out. :)
Yeah, I just spent it with a non-shady seller. If that thing isn't fine, I'll return it. For up to 24 months in this country. Then I'll either get the money back, replacement or a repair. Law is there for a reason. No idea about the consumer protection law you can leverage, but I'm not worried about the offer I chose yesterday.
Just use something like ebay and you'll find enough offers.
Make it run on a mainline kernel and I'm intrigued, otherwise I'm not. I'm no longer in the market for devices I can no longer use after a couple years. I will not buy another phone without mainline kernel support.
Then just take it to your nearest hackerspace. Maybe have a couple interesting conversations there and you'll likely find use for it.
