I don't think it'd be able to open the other way bc of the ceiling.

The no inner monologue thing threw me for a loop too. No wonder they all manage to get shit done. I've always had at least two layers of narration plus music.

I don't have aphantasia, but I can't imagine faces very well. I am extremely face blind, though.

I was also surprised when I moved to the Netherlands. Healthcare and insurance work exactly like they do in the US, with private insurance, copays, deductibles, additional plans for dental/vision... The differences are that the prices of everything are much, much lower.

Dutch has a lot of good ones!

Hippo: Nile Horse (nijlpaard)

Leopard: Lazy Horse (luipaard)

Sea urchin: Sea Hedgehog (zee egel)

Seal: Sea Dog (zeehond)

Skunk: Stink Animal (stinkdier)

Turtle: Shield Toad (Schildpad)

Slug: Naked Snail (Naaktslak)

Porcupine: Spiky Pig (Stekelvarken)

Pedantically criticizing the language of an indigenous person who is pleading for human rights is not a good look, my dude.

That's only a legal principle - he's not in jail, is he? Individuals and organizations can do whatever they want. It has nothing to do with modern society.

No one denies that wars bring medical advancements. What is questionable is the claim that Nazi experimentation advanced medical science.

Can you give an example of how medicine was actually advanced? Cause I've only heard that claim made by white supremacists.

Well I'm from the US so I'm unfortunately familiar with shit infrastructure. Also unfortunately, our public transportation in NL is a total joke (extremely expensive, dwindling , and unreliable) thanks to privatization and conservative politics. We are very lucky to have excellent bike infrastructure, but the weather makes it extremely inconvenient.

Inflation has hit us too, but not nearly as bad as the US. My grocery bill has essentially doubled and we're paying €2.25/liter for gasoline ($9.14/gallon!)

But I saw a bag of chips for $12 in Chicago last year and I still haven't recovered from the shock.
