Server rack with a couple of PBs worth of drives in it would probably match the physical size. Or a massive tape archive storage.

Hey if someone told me I could go see the 2025 equivalent of this hard drive being unloaded if probably go take a look.
I reckon doing what Norway does and just tax them by the weight of the vehicle to to discourage people buying them while alps making those that do pay for the extra wear and tear in the roads they cause.

In area or population? As the UK is roughly double the size of alabama by land area and a little under double the population of california.

This does not solve the problem of the sheer volume that be created and need to be handled. Even moving single digit percentages of modal share over to horses in urban areas would create infrastructure problems that quite frankly don't need to exist as we have better solutions.
Plus as you allude to with the horseshoes animals are vastly complicated things to maintain.
The vast majority of my communication happens in signal thigh I still have whatsapp around for the small cadre of friends I am yet to convince to move over.
