At the risk of coming across as insensitive, I really wonder what happened in this guy's life leading up to this. He lived through the "easy times" where boomers were buying houses on a single income, in fact he had a 10 year head start on them. The article says he only receives $1,100 from social security - so does he have $0 savings / investments at 90 years old? Genuinely curious, not taking a shit on him - this will be me at 90 too, if I last that long.
Angel of Death?
If you've got it, flaunt it
Still playing Dark Souls 2.
I also started playing Grapple Dog for something casual/relaxing.
Congrats on turning your life around and getting into the outdoors.
A quick way to learn would be to find a friend who knows and go camp with them.
I think you should not try to acquire all the gear until you know what you will actually use (besides, you will be the one carrying it)
Things I would definitely bring:
-a hatchet
-container(s) to drink from and cook in
-lighters
-single burner propane stove
-tent
-sleeping bag
-tarp
-rope and/or ratchet straps
-water filter (MSR MiniWorks EX is my personal fave)
-garbage bag(s)
Based on what you described, I think you should just go for it with some basics for one night at a time, and you will quickly learn what you want to bring in the future.
Maybe obvious, but have you emptied the "Bin"? I noticed deleted files still take space until you remove them from there.
I remember being confused as to why everyone loved Chrome suddenly
Because they were still using Explorer before that
It was insane, and pretty enjoyable too
They would get invaded for their oil
And bleach for the whites

You can try to paint me as a victim blamer all you want. I tried to make it clear that I legitimately wonder. I empathize with his situation, and I bet he would be open to share his stories, cautionary or otherwise, and not act like you are.
