They look good!

Did you use bread pans to help them keep that shape? Asking because mine have been turning out more flat and wide using a baking tray, unsurprisingly I guess.

It's pretty difficult for a movie to feel truly scary to me, and it's been ages since I saw it, but Darkness Falls sticks out in my mind. I think the whole hanging from the ceiling/clinging to the shadows thing is a big part of it. Unfortunately, like with most movies, the fear of the unknown fades the more we get to see "the monster", but the buildup in the first half was good as I remember it.

Like others have said, $100 is a lot. That's the kind of gift one might expect from a direct family member. $50 would be plenty.

Flowers and chocolate on top of that will come off as trying too hard and showing romantic interest. Spare yourself the accusations and tension it will cause between you and your friend. It's a very easy target that people this age will make fun of you for, even if you just intended to be polite.

Cooking food generally makes it safe to eat. If you are the only person handling it between cooking it and eating it you're probably ok. But in a restaurant or something, it could be tampered with during that time, or it could be old and kept warm at a temperature that isn't high enough to kill bacteria.

Mikael Åkerfeldt of Opeth. He was just really nice, stayed outside after the show for about an hour talking with fans and getting photos.

Randy Bachman. My friend and I were drunk and saw him near a venue he was playing at, and he was kind and patient enough to deal with us and let me take a photo.

Dean (Deaner) from the FUBAR movies and his fake but actually real band Nightseeker. He shook hands with people lined up at the venue and we noticed he had incredibly soft hands. There was a lineup to get photos and I was the last one. When it was my turn he said he was out of time and started the show. At the time I thought it was an asshole move, but looking back it was pretty funny and in-character of him.

I am thinking how it unjustly hurts people from the rest of the American continent.

Here in Canada, we call people from the USA "Americans". There's no confusion, and if you called a Canadian "American" they would correct you immediately. If you explained you meant it in reference to the continent of North America they would still insist that you don't. It may be technically correct, but it would be frowned upon. We appreciate your consideration, but the word is firmly their word, at least to us. "North American" would be fine, though.
