I can share my anecdote about a girl I dated who had bipolar disorder. Take it with a grain of salt.

She was fine until she decided to get off her medication, and then things got chaotic. Sudden shifts from cheery to outraged about little things (not being included in a short conversation with my roommate about fishing), leaving in the middle of the night to walk home through a sketchy downtown area and convinced she would be fine. I worried for her safety and had to walk her home against her protest.

Then there were arguments about conversations that we never had. I don't know if that had anything to do with bipolar or something else.

From what I can tell the medication made a world of difference. If I knew better at the time I would have tried to convince her to get back on it.

Regular club hits fast and hard. It's very satisfying to use. So are the big ones.

Abusive relationships tend to be like that. Now you're free and can make up for lost time. There's too much good music/movies/food/video games/nature to enjoy to let it go to waste. DM if you ever need someone to chat about it with.

Hey, I recognize you from some of the memes you've posted and I appreciate them.

Can relate to most of what you have said in this thread and yeah... Understandable.

Still, there is more to life than other people. What about you, what you like and what you care about? Maybe now's a good time to be selfish and enjoy things just for you.

In comment sections or in community pages, it's mostly an ocean of default avatars.

When I joined it seemed like most people had an avatar. I have used this one for years, so why not?

I also like recognizing other Lemmings. Username is alright for that, but the image helps even more. It makes it feel like a small community from the internet of old (forums).

Definitely give it a go. I think it's pretty comparable to LTTP, maybe a bit less forgiving in terms of combat and boss difficulty, but not more than the DS games. In terms of secrets it is downright cryptic, but has an in-game instruction manual (which is fantastic btw) that's clearly inspired by the first NES Zelda.

I suggest playing through blind, beat the game, then before doing NG+ go hunting for secrets and check guides online if needed (I had to get help for some).

Somewhat debatable if it's a soulslike, but TUNIC has been one of my recent faves. It's inspired by Zelda and Dark Souls, even has an equivalent to red tearstone ring. Full of secrets, fun combat, beautiful world. It looks "cute", but it's not that easy.

As someone who played DS2 before DS1, I didn't notice any of the problems you listed. I did notice that DS1 only lets you roll in 4 directions when locked on, though. I think DS1 veterans are most likely the biggest haters of DS2.

Edit: not to say the criticisms aren't valid for long-time players, but noobs like me seem less impacted

Oh yeah you're right, it's supposed to be Q4 2025.

I want to try it, but I'm not extremely hyped, just somewhat excited. The fact that there is day one DLC is a bit of a bummer in the way it feels like a cash grab.

I'll definitely wait a bit to make sure From's famous netcode is ironed out first. Maybe wait to see if there is a sale during summer.

Gotta be DS3. It was my first one and the game lets you treat it like a boss rush if you know it well, so I've got several NG+ cycles that were completed in a day each. It has less running around / travel time required than DS1 and 2.

Haven't played Bloodborne (thanks, SONY) or Sekiro (soon tho).

It's a lot better as a co-op area than solo, which is hell, but not great either way. Still terribly large and empty and could have used a bonfire in one of the buildings. The rest of this DLC is awesome though.
