Hopefully it shouldn't be a big deal. I just need to find a new hosting service, and the migration should be easy. I have some time to figure it out, so I'm not too worried, just gotta find the right service.

Quite possible. I'm not an expert and working from memory, so I could very well get something wrong

I've just been made aware of this, but as an fyi to the community, our hosting company is going out of business. There's time for us to migrate hosting services, the final date is February of 2026, and they're available for us to assist in migration of our instance, but I wanted to share with everyone, as we might see some down time after figuring out what's next.

Yes, actually. They're both different mixes of plutonium isotopes. Iirc reactor grade plutonium is far more stable than weapons grade (because blowing up is less desirable for reactors than bombs), and has some different properties when used.

Yeah, i'm actually traveling right now, so i'll take care of it when i get a chance later.

Edit: it is done

Not a bad idea; Someone with the power to do something should do something about that!

They also recently did a reprint of the first ~5 or so books in paperback. One of the neat things they did with the reprints is they've included dice rolls at the bottom of every page, so instead of needing to use dice, you can flip to a random page instead and use that as your roll.

The plane also says "King trump" on the side of it

I mean, that was essentially the point of the spell plague. It was just a cataclysm to explain why mechanics were so different due to 4e. It's basically like in comics when they want to reboot they do a big cataclysm to justify resetting

worth noting, i believe that discussion is for c/rpg specifically, i dont think it was about a blanket ban for the entire instance.

"Thanks to our community for the frank feedback on Bloodlines 2 and the Premium Edition. That feedback made it clear: Lasombra and Toreador belong in the base game, so that is what we are doing," said Marco Behrmann, White Wolf Executive Vice President and Bloodlines 2 Executive Producer. > > "Sorry we couldn't get away with it" vibes

I use this site to turn things into tokens - https://rolladvantage.com/tokenstamp/

It takes whatever image you plop into it, so at that point you can turn anything you want into a token. As far as what to make the images with, I'm not entirely sure, since the ask is kinda vague. What are you looking for in the tokens?

Fyi, the author @slyflourish@ttrpg.network is known to hang out around here from time to time. He's also on mastodon as @slyflourish@chirp.enworld.org

Not entirely sure what this means other than sounds like they're looking to farm out all the work to 3rd parties rather than developing in house. So I guess we'll see....

Title says it. Roll for combat/battlezoo's distributor 'Diamond' has filed for bankruptcy and is keeping their (and other company's) stock to sell in a liquidation sale to keep the proceeds and pay off their debt.

Mentioned in the video, diamond is a distributor for other TTRPG companies as well, such as paizo, goodman games, and others.

I don't think they're the sole distributor for all of them, so i think the amount of damage it's doing is highly specific to each company, but it's still pretty shitty for companies in this industry in particular because of how hard it is to turn profits already in a niche industry.

Just an FYI, pict-rs (the picture service used by lemmy) will be going down for an upgrade tomorrow morning. It should only last for about an hour or so, during which time image upload, image viewing, thumbnails, etc. will be unavailable. The rest of the services (lemmy, comments, discussion, etc.) will all be available during this time.

Apparently chris perkins announced his retirement from WotC today.

I posted a rumor link on this last night, and removed it because I wasn't sure of the source; looks like we have a firm source about it now, though, guess project sigil is effectively dead.

Yesterday we had a bit of an outage with image storage on our instance; Got some messages about it at one point, but that said, everything should be back up and running. Is anyone else running in to issues? I had one user mention that they had a problem this morning, but I wanted to see if anyone else was running in to problems.

Let me know! If there's issues, we can get to the bottom of it, and get things hammered out.
