hmm, something tells me that facepaint will come into style in the next 10 years...

That's kinda how he works.

He's a "better politician" than the other much older politicians because he can explain the problems and blame Republicans and old politicians for the problems but ultimately his solutions are the same.

Also he comes straight from private equity and refuses to say anything bad about them. As a matter of fact he's the first politician I have ever heard say "no". Full stop, no weaseling out of it. It was when he was asked about his prior employers and their involvement in a price fixing scandal over Canadian bread prices.

So... yeah I don't like him

I once had a study partner who was raised like that. We were scheduling our first after school study session and trying to figure out time. I shoot out sunday and he goes "nah I have church, wait don't you have church?" "nah, I'm an atheist"

dude vanished. Three days later I notice him trying to like... hide in a hoodie towards the opposite side of the class. I walk over, worried I offended him or something. He basically tells me that he can't interact with satanists and I just go "look, if you don't wanna interact with me, don't. You don't have to hide in a corner or try to avoid me. If you wanna draw the line at just existing in the same room, ok then."

To his credit, he did try to have a study session with me after that, but I had to end it early. The dude was so on edge, it was like he was convinced I was gonna stab him at any moment.

Years later he contacted me to apologize out of the blue on facebook. Went completely off grid traveling the world. My guess trying to compensate for just how little he knew of it.

I mean, the bigger reveal is him admitting that over half the Jewish vote probably voted for Mamdani.

He pushed the antisemitism HARD. Every outlet pushed the antisemitism HARD. He's admitting point blank it failed miserably.

Like, the most devils advocate I can be for her vote is that she's arguing that we shouldn't take away their shield, we should take away their spear.

To which... I still don't see the logic. Because if you can block with one hand you're free to stab with the other. If all you have is stabby implements, you got no way to deal with when they stab back.

They'd be forced to be less aggressive, which they seem intent to be.

It doubly won't work since isn't Eric Adams doing the same thing? Two establishment politicians running as independents?

I'm actually planning a twoshot of DC20 next week. So hopefully I will be able to do just that.

From everything I've been reading I've liked quite a bit, hopefully it works just as well in practice.

Not a movie but 18 episodes, Arcane is full of massive, massive feels.

Hits multiple times in different ways. If you want the full gamut of emotional.

Yeah, when it takes 3 or 4 lakes of thatch to make a thatch roof, you only ever get one building.

The amount of stone required for bricks, the amount reed required for any sort of storage, the amount of sticks to power your kiln. There's so much grinding for base materials that making anything pretty cuts so deep into your survival.

Leather in particular sucked because you needed borax or limestone or chalk. Took so long to find but it was the difficulty of building materials that drove me absolutely batty.

Was just about to recommend this. Really wish I could get a server of people playing it. Single player is ROUGH. It takes so much time and effort to build cool stuff in survival and there's just not enough time to gather all the raw resources in a day.

I'm trying to build this as a quick oneshot to try out DC20. Mostly just looking to test it out but their default campaign is soooo cheesy.

For those unfamiliar, The King Dressed in Yellow is a play, and anyone who reads the script for this play goes mad. So the idea is that people who went mad reading the script are trying to perform the play to summon the King Dressed in Yellow. (which would be bad)

I have a rough outline of

  • quick skirmish at the start in the guardhouse (the fantasy equivalent of the DMV)
  • leading the adventurers to where the cultists are having tryouts for roles in the play (small "dungeon"), where they find some prisoners being forced to become actors
  • leading to a final boss fight that I want to have on stage during the play to a whole audience of enthralled patrons about to be sacrificed to the King Dressed in Yellow

Mostly I'm looking for ideas for theater cultists, and the boss fight. I don't want them to fight the King Dressed in Yellow, (it's a level 1 oneshot) but I was thinking about some ways to make the fight interesting and most importantly stop the play so he isn't summoned.

I was kinda thinking they walk in from stage right and a big fake foyer is on stage while the King Dressed in Yellow is trying to enter the world. I figure there will be some baddies, three of them holding props, and after every round of combat after everybody had their turn. The King Dressed in Yellow knocks on the fake front door from another plane of existence and the right prop holder has to say the right line and then the script continues. Three correct line deliveries and the adventurers lose, The King Dressed in Yellow enters the world and causes havoc. So they have to kill/steal from/silence the correct actors and stall the play while the fight is going on.

any ideas/questions would be welcome.

A nice thing to chill to on a Monday.

God this one really hits me hard.

Kinda just stumbled across him jumping around youtube. The dude has a very unique voice and a knack for lyrics.

I remember when I was young I could just turn on the TV, pick any channel, and I would watch a properly timed ball drop in New York.

Now? It took ages to find a new years countdown on youtube. Couldn't find a decent option and eventually I settled on a tower in Texas that was in the central time zone.

Is there a good ball drop replacement for people who don't own a TV and live purely online? It doesn't need to be fancy, just count down without me having to synchronize watches -_-
