Super interesting, thanks for sharing!
Klarna's product team discussed adding email OTP login, rather than only a text message OTP login via phone, internal Slack messages from August showed.
Can you please fucking stop using text and email as OTP. It is literally the worst, not to mention bad security practices. Use proper OTP via a dedicated app, or start using passkeys.
Staffers said at the time in Slack messages that adding the additional verification measure would have a negative impact on the conversion ratio for merchants — meaning the number of visitors to a retail outlet who complete a sales transaction — because email OTP would be more time-consuming for customers than text message OTP.
Once again Klarna, use a dedicated app or passkeys. Or maybe replace some people with AI, that seemed to work so well last time.
Yeah, im in disbelief. It was just weeks ago when they reported a website was spamming the parliament with emails. Now fucking Denmark is trying again, WTF Denmark!!!
Absolutely agree. I have been thinking of starting a selfhost guide that takes you through the different ways to selfhost and the basic concepts of it, but gave up because I'm a shit writer and my experiences are mostly docker, k8s and Terraform/OpenTofu.
Wormhole extreme from SG-1
🤣 Let me guess, the number is the year the company was established.
My family. Without me getting up, putting myself through each day, they would have a much tougher situation.
This is unfortunately insanely common in a lot of companies. I literally cannot count the number of passwords that I've had to update, from a combo of the company name and a four digit number, usually bigger than 2000.
I'm in tears after laughing so hard 🤣🤣🤣. Thanks for this!
One of my personal favorites. Thanks for the reminder.
Then it's absolutely on fucking point!
