Actually really few instances of jerry rigging, but I do remember during my distro-hopping days where I used a binary gcc package to compile a more optimized binary of gcc. At the time, that felt pretty weird, but looking back I see why.

Are the batteries not changeable? Maybe I'm missing something, but it sounds like the batteries are hardwired to the motherboard.

The modularity is one of the reasons I started looking at Framework. Their warranty suck (compared to most EU warranties), but modularity would ease my anxiety if something breaks. Had a purism before and when that one broke, it was not much to be done.

I switch my device to light mode when presenting. Dark mode is awesome for me, but sucks when presenting.
Any purism product, overpriced, outdated and their hardware basically breaks when connecting it to external devices.
