This was my first thought. The TV adaptation at least. I’ve watch the first few episodes a few times and never feel the draw to keep going. Just kind of forget I started.

I’ve never read any Banks. How would you compare him to Alastair Reynolds? I’m a HUGE Reynolds fan, especially stuff like House of Suns and Pushing Ice.

I’m looking for some new epic space opera to read :)

Yes this is the correct response. The standard model is the standard model because it’s stood the test of decades of challenges. One paper does not topple this.

EDIT: also note, the early galaxy formation challenges are interesting but don’t require a revision of the cosmological model. The data is new and many of these results will be revised into the “less spectacular” bin (this is already happening).

Still playing my first run through of Elden Ring, almost 250 hours in Have explored almost every corner, just finishing up now. Am having a blast!
