Bitwarden's great, and I use it myself. But for a company with groups, "secure" sharing and so on, it just doesn't compete on the features. But even so, LP's card is marked for us.

Last film I watched in the cinema was Dumb and Dumber in the early 90s...

(That's more to do with living rural and not really wanting to spent an hour each way travelling to be disappointed by distracting audiences)

I use epshome. Not a big poster, but happy to join.

There's lots of ways. I've used an Aqara zigbee temp/humidity sensor before which worked fine, just needed protection from rain.

Now I'm using a onewire dallas sensors, along with quiet a few others around the house. They work fine too.

The problem is - except for tracked parcels, nothing is traced and there's so many ways for something to go missing between sender and recipient. Hard to measure performance if you can't rely on that.

Yes. If you've not been using reddit for a little while, have you noticed any mental health changes?

It's also nice to be here whilst it's still got new-thing energy. I like that.

Just deleted my 11 year account with almost a million karma after overwriting and deleting all my comments and posts. Reddit is dead to me.

He does rather like to paint himself as a victim, and very quick to blame conspiracy. A bit like Boris in that regard.

undefined> Postman to be paid for performance. Postman to be paid for performance. I don't think that works.

If it did, flyers and phonebooks (back when they were a thing) wouldn't be found dumped in hedges in bulk. Post is a little different, but not that much. and there have been many cases where bags and bags of undelivered mail have been found stashed in postmen's homes because they couldn't be arsed to deliver them.

We're rural, and often postman and couriers are the only people we see day to day, so we build a good relationship with them. It's a 20 minute trip to the closest postbox, so they often pick up our outgoing parcels too (I sell stuff through ebay so there's quite a few)

Two years ago our postie of 12 years said he was leaving because there wasn't enough staff, deadlines were too tight and management wasn't coping well. Local POs closing, even our regional sorting office closed and went elsewhere. Deliveries were missed, booked pickups too. The worst was when they came to collect a parcel, but it had been collected the day before. Instead they took one clearly marked "Hermes" from outside our house and only having the Hermes label, which was a £90 car heater I'd just sold. I immediately rang the number but despite the lady trying to trace him down, it vanished. If I hadn't had caught him on cctv I'd never have known where it had gone. I lost all that money, including the Hermes fee.

We had a few random postmen since then, changing every week, but now have settled down to a regular one and we're lucky in that he's one of the great ones who goes out of his way to be helpful. He's also a biker so we have have that in common too.

Agree totally. A great project that just works. Love it

My employer users Lastpass, a commercial solution. That hasn't been a good experience, with downtime, forced re-passwording and worst, having our details stolen from them.

We went through it in the 80s and 90s here in the UK, only we called it "positive discrimination".

Discrimination is discrimination, though. If you prioritise someone because of race, gender or age then it's still discrimination and now it's mostly acknowledged that any company practicing it is very open to legal action. (I mean, discrimination is a basic human trait so it definitely goes in, but it's not overt). Where a job is given to someone less able and qualified, there have been a number of court cases.
