Was using a VPN to watch iPlayer last night and then hopped on reddit and was like "whereintheactualfuck is all the porn‽" Before realizing I had it set to the UK. Blew my mind for a minute

Is this template thing not... Just how life works?

Like, I've taken enough sociology and anthropology classes to know that humans these systems of behavior into our societies. We go into church and there is a set of behaviors expected, we go to the grocery and there is a set of behaviors expected when speaking with the clerk, et cetera, et cetera.

But, like, is this a ND thing to need to memorize the templates for these interactions? Because that's my whole life. Stand back, try to remain unseen, observe, memorize, then I can interact. Is that not just what everyone does?

Y'all, I'm having a little bit of a crisis here

Add some balsamic glaze on top when you serve it, maybe a little fresh parm. Amazing.

Same. Bernie forgiving her is two fold, he's the bigger man compared to me, and he recognizes the need for some allies, even if you can't fully trust them.

But she's a snake, a liar, a cheat, and I don't trust her not to Tulsi Gabbard us, even if she won't take it to that extreme... But honestly, I couldn't tell you what extreme she would take it to, considering she's proven herself to be checks notes a snake, a liar, and a cheat. Is she better than most of em? No fucking clue. Her results have been better in most cases, but who knows what she'd do if the money or motivation is right.

There's a short story, What We Talk About When We Talk About Anne Frank. It's a good read, but basically it boils down to a group of Jewish friends discussing who would hide each other if the Nazis ever came back into power, and there's an uncomfortable realization when one of them realizes someone they love wouldn't have the spine to hide them if the shit hit the fan. That's how I feel about EW. When the shit hits the fan her progressiveness goes out the window, and it becomes how she can protect her own interests over the literal billions of people on the planet that would benefit from a truly progressive American administration.

Meanwhile, in south Carolina, I pay bring home about 60% of my income, I can't afford to eat well, I get absolutely zero assistance for food, medical insurance, or God Forbid basic income, and I am genuinely contemplating attempting to live in my vehicle in an abandoned parking lot near my work to save on gas money.

I didn't expect to find my fellow Advaitins on this particular thread, but hello, well met!

Fucking. Exactly. Tap is awesome. It's fast, it works, but just fucking standardize where it's at!

But until then, as someone who works a register, people, please, look at the machines and see if there is a very clear label on it saying TAP HERE. I don't know how every customer misses it, but they do.

I did not have this friend, so I had to become this friend.

Sadly, I still have no friends to share it with :(

Not really. There are nondualist traditions within Christianity. Meister Eckhart being the most well known. Nonduality isn't the worshipping of other gods before Yahweh, it's the belief that all that exists is within God. Panentheism isn't incompatible with Christianity, it's just a super niche trend within it, but with lots of historical precedent, even within large Christian organizations like the RCC. They never excommunicated Eckhart, and while he was controversial during his life, his thoughts on nonduality effectively forced the church to admit that it was not heresy.

Going beyond the RCC and into protestantism there is no unifying body to declare what is and isn't allowed, so basically, screw that, imma do what I want.

But if you're at all interested (not in a "Join us!" Way, more in an interesting historical knowledge way), there are tons of nondualist Christians, and I'd be happy to share.

One of my favorite ways this has ever been expressed is through David Graeber. Paraphrasing:

If you convince 100 million people that you can breathe under water, and you go sit at the bottom of a lake, you drown.

If you convince 100 million people you're the king of France... Then you're the king of France.

I come cheap! A small shack, some leftovers, and a decent internet connection are all I require!

Sadly I have yet to have found my hermitage :(

Hey, folks, I just got a new phone, and reinstalled Eternity on it. But no matter which account I try to log in with, I'm getting an error ("cannot fetch user info") when I try to log in.

Any help is much appreciated. I'm not sure if eternity is on the play store, but I got it through f droid if that matters.
