'tis truth, friend. And it's absolutely fucking adorable. YouTube "popcorning guinea pigs" or rats or whatever, it's so fucking cute.

My GOD that would have been a good episode! Hank gets invited to a rodeo, says no. Tells Peggy, she's like "Go Hank, it'll be fun!" He says he doesn't like Rodeo's, they're just show and not real sport or something else Hank Hill-ish. Peggy convinces him to go, he has an amazing time, all the while completely oblivious to the fact that it's a gay rodeo. Makes a comment in passing that's completely innocuous, but in the context of a gay rodeo makes everyone think he's a power bottom. Gets the nickname "Backdoor Buckaroo," which Hank thinks is in appreciation of how much work he does helping everyone out behind the scenes.

The last day of the rodeo he invites the family and friends and Mr. Strickland to the rodeo, and Peggy explains to him what's going on, right before they announce a special thank you to "Hank 'Backdoor Buckaroo' Hill" over the loud speaker. Queue "ahhhh" scene

I mean, can also sort of get it the other way around, too. Like, she doesn't want a strange man she doesn't know back at the hotel with her. But also, 1, it's fucked to separate a family, it's screams of trying to get them into a vulnerable position, and also, she's clearly not trying to, like, house these people. Just give them a room for tonight, best case scenario. I do not blame Mama for knocking her down one teeny tiny bit, even if she knows she's a celebrity and probably not a human trafficking nutjob.

Yeah, it looks like she thinks she's so famous that of course they'll know who she is. The fake accent, the "not the husband just you and the kids", "this is dirty, leave it" all of it combined with the super obvious fact that's she's stoned out of her gourd make me think she thought she was doing a good thing... Like, she had good intentions... But you know what they say about the road to hell. She was stoned, and oblivious, and egotistical, arrogant, and of course white woman knows best... I know literally nothing else about her personal life other than this video and that she lives in Dubai now (both of which I learned from this thread). I'm withholding judgement for what a sober Lindsay is like, but this speaks to some sad shit.

Most of my internetin' is done on mobile, because I'm very rarely at my desk, and when I am, I'm normally working on school. Are there any solutions to handling this easily on mobile without having to manually erase part of the pasted link when I go to send it to someone? A few people have mentioned that's it's not 100% guaranteed that the anything after ? Is worthless, so I don't know how to ensure I'm not breaking a link

But who was that guy?

Why have you filtered out your communions, my child?

It is important that you not desecrate the sacrament and accept the blood and body as they were intended, not strained or filtered.

Also, please do not chew the wafer.

If you want trump to do, here's what you'll need to do:

Make the bottom border go straight across and connect to Mexico, then build that giant wall along the new mexican-us border.

The added benefit here is a larger border with Mexico, meaning he can run around screaming about the now larger border with Mexico, while simultaneously cutting off Mexico's west coast from the ocean, fucking their supply routes. He'd absolutely be on board for this.

Was using a VPN to watch iPlayer last night and then hopped on reddit and was like "whereintheactualfuck is all the porn‽" Before realizing I had it set to the UK. Blew my mind for a minute

Is this template thing not... Just how life works?

Like, I've taken enough sociology and anthropology classes to know that humans these systems of behavior into our societies. We go into church and there is a set of behaviors expected, we go to the grocery and there is a set of behaviors expected when speaking with the clerk, et cetera, et cetera.

But, like, is this a ND thing to need to memorize the templates for these interactions? Because that's my whole life. Stand back, try to remain unseen, observe, memorize, then I can interact. Is that not just what everyone does?

Y'all, I'm having a little bit of a crisis here

Add some balsamic glaze on top when you serve it, maybe a little fresh parm. Amazing.

Hey, folks!

So, the card linked to my hetzner account expired, and while I updated it everywhere else, the hetzner info fell through the cracks. They deleted my storageshare server, and erased everything, because I'm a fool, and didn't have their emails going to an account I ever check. I've spent the last several days feeling like I'd had a digital housefire. Things kept popping into my head, photos I had taken 10 years ago, or early drafts of the novel I'm writing... It's been pretty fucking depressing.

But, tonight, I fired up a laptop I haven't used in a while to find that most of what was in nextcloud was backed up on it. It's not everything, but it's the bulk of it.

I'd like for this to never happen again. I'm wondering if there's a complete idiot's guide to self hosting nextcloud? When I say I know nothing about this, please believe me. We're talking starting from scratch. I've never self hosted anything, and I have no idea where to begin. I'm on fedora silverblue, but just because I'm using linux doesn't mean I know anything. It just means I'm cheap. Haha. All I know is that I never want to go through that feeling of complete loss again. I'll make sure that whatever I do, it'll be backed up in two locations at least. I was paying for the family plan, and my brother, his wife, my mom, and a friend lost access to their stuff, too. So far as I know, there isn't a back up of their stuff. I really messed up here.

Any help is really appreciated, thanks in advance!

Hope this is allowed here. I couldn't find an lolgrindr type community.

Different religions have an "age of accountability."
The legal system has an "age of adulthood."
And puberty hits us with the "age of awkwardness" (thanks, hormones).

But I propose a new milestone: the Age of Pepto Bismol.
You’re not truly an adult until you have to keep Pepto Bismol nearby at all times, lest the twin demons of heartburn and indigestion take up permanent residence within you.

One of my favorite things on the other site was seeing the users doing a song together, but I'd completely forgotten about it until someone just replied to my Jefferson Airplane quote with the next line. Would be very cool to see a Lemmy sings community. Anyone know of one? I'm coming up snake eyes on my search.

Seriously, I doubt it would even take that long. We get used to shit so quickly, and the news cycles have to keep feeding us new things, the only way we'd keep talking about the aliens if they kept doing new and interesting things. I'd be willing to bet a year later there would be some people who straight up forgot about it. "Oh yeah, aliens! Are they gonna, like, visit at some point or just keep exchanging calls with the Whitehouse?"

Not sure if this goes here, but whenever I get a reply to a comment, it shows up twice? Any body know why?

Hey, folks, I'm new to this side of things, and I'm hoping someone can help me out.

I just signed up 5tb of storage through Hetzner's storage share, using nextcloud. I like it so far, but I'm running into an issue. I figured out how to make multiple users, but I don't know how to (or if I can) restrict different users to specific folders. We're broke, so this is going to be shared between me, my mom, my brother, and my sister in law. If it's possible, I'd like to create a folder for each of us, and restrict access to that folder to just that person. I don't want to be able to see what's in my brother's folder, and I don't want my mom seeing what's in mine, et cetera. I've tried to google it and look it up on youtube, but most of what I can find isn't related, and if it is, it's a bunch of technospeak that I don't really understand about self-hosting, which I'm not doing. If it's possible, it would be cool to have a central shared folder as well, but we could just share links with each other when we want to share something if needed.

Any help is really appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Hey, folks, I'm hoping someone here can help me out.

I have a laptop that has been messed up for a while, and I just got it repaired. I was using as basically a desktop, external monitor, mouse, keyboard. I just got it repaired and would like to use it as a laptop again. My problem is that something like 2 years ago, I edited some setting so that I could close the lid of the laptop and it wouldn't suspend, but I can't remember how I did it, and now it won't suspend when I close it, which is less than convenient for use as a laptop.

I googled, but it's not in GNOME tweaks anymore, and I'm not sure how to do any of the stuff I see people posting about terminal commands. I can follow instructions for command line stuff, but I sort of need it spelled out for me from step 1.

Any help is really appreciated. Thanks in advance!
