I suppose it has to do with the widespread belief that admins of an instance can be prosecuted for illegal text and imagery posted by their users.

I’ve often considered starting my own single user instance so I can say whatever is on my mind and subscribe to whoever I want without fear of legal reprisal.

Defederation and over-moderation has been a cancer to free speech (particularly on Lemmy.world). I detest the fact that instance admins get to decide which instances I can personally subscribe to.

Infosec.pub has been pretty good, though I do dislike the fact that I can’t see db.0 accounts and posts since I’m basically an anarcho syndicalist.

Stifle populist movements around the world in the pursuit of infinite growth.

Perhaps more anarcho syndicalism is what OP means.

A citizen of the world; A left leaning, anarcho syndicalist and when I’m feeling moderate, a democratic socialist. People would think the same thing they already think about me: that I’m a person that is fed up with fascist boot lickers on both “sides” of the rapidly rightward shifting Overton window.

As a software engineer that delights in recklessly refactoring entire systems at once I think this is an instance where making small targeted changes would be better for everyone.

As a functional programmer that delights in recklessly refactoring entire systems at once, I think this is an instance where our entire government needs to be rewritten with a proper “types” system in place so the compiler will warn us when there are inconsistencies in our laws and we can keep refactoring until we reach totality or soundness. We can isolate the side effects of laws and make sure they only do one thing. Laws can be free monads! 🤪

This show was really good. It felt like Luigi must’ve watched it.

spoiler warning

The jackal even used a 3D printed gun at one point.

In this video, Michael Madoff, Group Product Manager for Governance at IOG explains Cardano’s governance system and in particular the role of the Constitutional Committee.

Decentralized governance and decision-making are crucial to ensuring that everyone has a voice and control over the Cardano protocol's future development. The Cardano governance model reflects this by demonstrating the achievability of liquid and representative democracy through individual participation and immutable vote recording. ADA holders can decide on treasury fund distribution and the platform's future development. So, as a community, how can we work together to outline policies and guidelines for the future development of Cardano and ensure that everyone has a say?

Cardano governance has a clear roadmap to bring the Cardano community through this whole process. The Cardano Constitution defines the policies and rules to enable sustainable growth of Cardano's ecosystem to ensure fair participation, protection, and a foundation to meet current and future demands.

Understand the role of the Constitutional Committee, the stages involved, how the constitution will be ratified, Cardano Improvement Proposal (CIP) 1694, on-chain governance features, expansion of governance capabilities, the roles of DReps and ADA holders, and more.
