Does this mean that Biden’s foreign policy failed, even though he assumed the office four years ago with more foreign-policy experience than any other American president in half a century?

The man was already completely demented in 2020. If you can’t even admit that and instead parrot some strange campaign point about “experience” (didn’t George Bush run the CIA before his presidency for example?), your article loses massive amounts of validity for anyone reading that lives in non-partisan hack reality.

[–] demesisx 12 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

Not as badly as I seem. It’s just insanity. Doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results that gets me heated.

[–] demesisx 12 points 10 months ago

This is a good retort. I’m disarmed and willing to cede this point to you. IMHO, voting third party is ineffective but I will cede that voter apathy is worse.

Personally, I voted for Cruz in a solidly dem state.
If Kamala couldn’t even pretend to pledge to stop a genocide (which I knew she wouldn’t from her enthusiastic speeches for the AIPAC alone) she shouldn’t have anyone’s vote. if there are only two viable parties, at least one of them should be pacifists, right?

Thanks for the intellectually honest and non-defensive reply. You’re the type of voter shamer that I can at least come to a common ground with. 🕊️

If you think voting between two utterly corrupt parties that collaborate on fucking you over behind closed doors matters, get fucked.

[–] demesisx 10 points 10 months ago (2 children)

No. But the way to fix this CERTAINLY isn’t to post memes broadcasting your anger at some perceived slight from people that won’t step in line behind a sham system like some stupid sheep to be herded for your silly partisan hackery. The shaming does nothing more than perpetuate the very issue of corruption and austerity in the US.

Ranked choice voting solves the issues created by FPTP.

Have you EVER seen evidence that shaming marginalized, unrepresented, utterly voiceless and abused voters works?

[–] demesisx 10 points 10 months ago (1 children)

I’m shocked that you’d make the typical overly generous assessment of actual bribery to excuse any and all of your team. /s

Do some more research. This is just the tip of the fucking iceberg. Biden has a long track record of quid pro quo besides this event that you clearly are purposely looking the other way on.

I could literally show you video of Biden accepting a bribe and you’d find a way to excuse it.

There’s like three studios left. Welcome to oligopoly.

[–] demesisx 17 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago) (5 children)

The politicians of the US took massive payouts from the banking industry in exchange for commodifying anything and everything that people need. Back in ~~2008~~ 2005, Biden himself took a $250,000 bribe from MBNA to make it illegal to escape student loans even in bankruptcy.

How dare you, OP.

What you’re doing is the equivalent of victim-shaming. The two party system is a fucking sham; and if you’re too comfortable (or ignorant) to realize that, you need to go read up on the US’s fake democracy and stop punching down on your allies.

Some reading:

vote...

1.) First past the post makes only two parties possible.

2.) Voting is a fucking sham when you only have two private parties that win court cases where they are accused of election fraud, offering the following as their defense:

“We could have voluntarily decided that, ‘Look, we’re gonna go into back rooms like they used to and smoke cigars and pick the candidate that way,’”

furthermore, the DNC’s lawyer said,

“There’s no right to not have your candidate disadvantaged or have another candidate advantaged. There’s no contractual obligation here…it’s not a situation where a promise has been made that is an enforceable promise,”

If your two parties are legally allowed to engage in open election fraud in the process of selecting those only two possible candidates, how effective is it IN REALITY to vote?

Am I out of touch?

No, it's the forward-thinking generation of software engineers that want elegant, reliable, declarative systems that are wrong.

Regardless of my distaste for Trump, I wanted to share this (for the same reason that Charles thought it was significant enough to do his first-ever reaction video) since it is significant in that it is the only time an ex-president has spoken at a Bitcoin conference.

I had avoided sharing this video because I thought it was going to be Charles praising Trump. But, he's actually endorsing Kennedy and had LOTS of critical words for Trump. Trump was predictably off-topic for most of his speech. He basically just name-dropped and rambled on topics that aren't even remotely related to BTC for twenty straight minutes. The speech was unbelievably bad until he started pandering to his audience about firing Gary Genseler, won Charles over a tiny bit with those words.

We also got see Charles being a goofy dork while he waited for the speech to start, overdubbing the pundits with his own brand of absurd humor.

TLDR; Charles says that Kennedy is the best candidate for the crypto industry and that he actually has a brain and is a "thinking man" despite reports that he literally had a worm eating parts of his brain for years before he found out.

Personally, I won't even cast a vote in this sham election. I have no dog in the race and sane, common sense leftist perspectives are literally unrepresented in American political theater and will continue to be until they tear it all down and start with a new constitution.

Technical Death Metal is one of metal's most beloved and popular genres. But where exactly did it start from? Today, in this Metal Documentary series we analyze the history of bands like Cynic, Atheist, Death, and Pestilence to determine the true origins of one of metal's most famous and well-known genres.

Technical death metal (also referred to as tech-death) is a musical subgenre of death metal that began and developed in the early- to mid-1990s, with a particular focus on challenging, demanding instrumental skill and complex songwriting.

Technical experimentation in death metal began in the late 1980s and early 1990s by four bands that are often grouped together as "technical death metal's Big Four" – Death, Pestilence, Atheist, and Cynic – as well as Nocturnus; all but Pestilence being part of the Florida death metal scene.

Some of the distinct features of this genre include dynamic song structures, complex and atypical rhythmic structures, abundant use of diminished chords and arpeggios, frequent employment of odd-time chord progressions, and constant use of string skipping on the guitars. Basslines are usually complex, and the drums are extremely fast-paced with abundant use of blast beats and other extreme drumming techniques. The technical death metal genre has also been influenced by mostly jazz fusion, as well as thrash metal and progressive/technical-inspired heavy metal bands like Death, Megadeth, Slayer, Voivod, Kreator, Dark Angel, Coroner, Sadus, and Watchtower, the latter of whose second album Control and Resistance (1989) is often considered to be one of the sources of inspiration for the genre.
