I remember booting up AC2 on my Windows 7 powered by my Nvidia Geforce GTX460. Maybe it was my gullible teenage perception, but back then - just seeing the logos of these companies really hyped me up before the experience

You see that sentiment a lot, but I'll give it a hard no. This was a public event with about a 100 000 attendees, and Astronomer hires over 300 employees. There's a very decent chance someone would notice.

It may vary from region to region, I once visited the Museum of Soap and History of Dirt in Bydgoszcz, Poland (wonderful experience!) and it was all au contraire to what you just said

And everytime I heard historians scratching that topic, they would always confirm this information. So historically not much hygiene in Eastern Europe, I suppose.
