Thank you for the answer.

I completely understand that they're a different experience but if I wanted to somewhat see a game's story, would a playthrough suffice?

If you've seen my other post on this comm, you probably know why I am asking this. However, even if I did have a PC, I don't think I would have the time and energy to play a game anyway. That's why I'm now starting to prefer walkthroughs/playthroughs over actually playing the game myself. I know it's not a replacement for a PC but it's still enjoyable regardless. Also, my very first exposure to big games was actually through YouTube lets plays in the first place. What do you all think?

Requires registration. Also, are there no other instances of it? Also also, what protocol does it use?

Preferably with no required registration.

Looks simple but unfortunately that hasn't been updated for nearly a year.

I've tried lawnchair and kvaesito. Lawnchair was good feature-wise but it is really glitchy and would break a ton of times. Kvaesito is not a traditional launcher but rather search-based which is not my thing. I've also heard about Niagara but I haven't tried it and it's also closed-source so I don't really want to use it. Are there any up-to-date open source launchers with a decent amount of features other than the ones I've mentioned?

While I have no problems with let's plays, I still feel like they're kinda subjective. No commentary playthroughs are on the opposite end of the spectrum but I feel really really bored watching them and I can't say the same for let's plays.

I have actually heard about that. Haven't tried it but I feel like the controls for it on the phone are gonna be messy. I'll still try it regardless.

I haven't heard of those but I don't think there's any nearby anyway.

Hopefully so, the gaming market in my area has gotten rough. Maybe it'll calm down for the future but that's likely not gonna happen too soon. I'm thinking of passing the time without a PC for now. I don't think I'll able to afford a PC for a few years at best. Sorry for making it sound too dramatic in the post.

Unfortunately, I have a Mali GPU so it's highly unlikely any game will work on my phone. As for retroid pockets, I'll see if there's any in my area.

I sold my PC yesterday because of financial struggles and as far as I'm aware, I would probably be unable to buy a PC or console ever again. That said, I still want to somehow experience the games I would otherwise want to play on PC. I'm thinking of watching let's plays but of course, that's not the same as actually playing them. For those in the same boat, what do you do? Do you just let go? Or maybe watch playthroughs? I'm curious.

I've seen a lot of memes/jokes related to moths looking for lamps. Why does the community love these memes? What's the point?

Sorry for asking too many questions but is lutris's version of proton different from Steam's proton? Like if a game has, say platinum rank, on protondb, should I expect that game to run on lutris with proton as well?

I don't even know if this is allowed here but frankly, I don't care. I have seen conflicting guides on how to play cracked games. Some say to use lutris/wine, some say to use proton with steam and add the cracked games to steam though that carries a significant risk of a ban. So to all Linux pirates, how do you do this?

I would really love to kill some time on my phone. The games I have tried include: Slay the spire, shattered pixel dungeon, unciv, dead cells. Other than that, are there any solid phone games or otherwise ports, paid or not?
