I'm sorry, I must have responded to the wrong comment. That comment was supposed to be in an entirely different conversation.

Edit: Oh, I just reviewed my inbox. I thought you replied to a different comment of mine. I'm so dumb. Carry on.

I have a lock that I can check the status of on my phone, and even lock it from my phone if I forgot. It's really good for my peace of mind. No more getting up in the middle of the night to check the lock.

Yes, I intentionally didn't want to provide too many details, as I thought it would just be confusing for someone who doesn't already have a lot of background knowledge on the subject.

But specifically, I was talking about command line programs and ending them with Ctrl-C

I didn't mean the programs were in danger. When this is done to some programs, it can cause bad things to happen to your computer.

How are you closing the program? I don't mean with the X button on the desktop environment. I mean command line programs.

You haven't thought of the smell, you bitch!

I was a kid when the prequels came out. I remember the hate for them, but most of my friends that were my age all loved them, as did I.

I think people tend to like what they grew up with and dislike what comes out when they are older.

You can see this pattern in Pokemon games as well. I grew up with gen 2 and gen 3. When gen 4 came out, it seemed like everyone hated it. Same with gen 5. But now most people act like gen 5 was the last good one.

It can be really dangerous for some programs. I don't know too much about Windows, but in Linux, if we try to close a program once, it sends SIGTERM (or SIGINT, I can't remember right now), which basically asks your program to stop. You program can receive that signal and finish things up and exit cleanly. But if your program is deadlocked and can't handle that right now, closing the program again sends it a SIGKILL, which is basically the OS saying, "Get fucked. You're done whether you like it or not."

If no one else has this issue, it could very well be something unique to my internet connection!

Oh, that might be better. I moved out while Bart didn't come down that far south, or maybe it just opened up, but I always forget about it because I never used it before moving out of the area.

It happens constantly both on my laptop (suse) and my Steam Deck (arch). Same exact behavior. I gave up trying to debug it, and I just keep retrying the update command until the list is empty.

You should be fine with that amount of time depending on what time of day you are traveling. Just remember that it may take twice as long to drive between SF and SJ if you are doing it between 5 AM and 10 AM or 3 PM and 8 PM on a weekday.

I didn't travel to SF very often when I lived there, but I'll bet they have some of the best sushi places in the country. Though I don't know specifics, so you might need to do some googling to find the best ones. Near the SAP center, Sushi Confidential isn't bad. It's walkable from the SAP center, actually. Before I lived walking distance to the SAP center, I would park at San Pedro Square for like $7 and walk over. San Pedro Square has tons of options for local bars and food, and they're all pretty darn good.

If I had to recommend a pizza place that's pretty popular in that area that I like, it would be Pizza Guys. Most people really like Pizza My Heart, but I think they're kinda average. Though I don't think pizza in that area is too spectacular.

What is spectacular in that area are the burritos. Unlike in Austin where burritos are typically covered in sauce and eaten with a fork and knife, in California they are always served in aluminum foil, and you unwrap them as you eat them. Iguanas and La Victoria's are the two most popular ones, and you'll see people argue about which is better (I prefer iguanas!). Metro Balderas is my favorite burrito in San Jose, but only at the taco truck near Race Street. The restaurant isn't as good.

Hopefully that helps a little!

It marked the first time in franchise history the team earned consecutive come-from-behind victories with a deficit of at least three goals.
