Misogyny, not unlike racism or other forms of bigotry are all forms of insecurity.

I think a lot of people have noticed this but it's surprising how many people haven't.

It seems pretty obvious. It's a big red flag. Bigots try to hurt others to feel superior. And they always go after the person in the vicinity that they think will give them the least challenge.

This is why it's up to the rest of us to call them out. Make it so they fear the retribution from harassing others.

Back in my hippie days, we would do a little trick. You get some hemp. Few beads. Whatever. Tie it around your big toe then loop it around your ankle. So it looks like you are wearing flip flops at a glance.

Did it all the time.

As a more informed person. I do not really recommend walking barefoot anywhere except a park or your own space. And beaches.

Cause dogs literally pee on every surface that exists in a city.

And also hepatitis.

Glass. Other sharp things.

Even if you have thick soles, they can take out gashes of it.

And the sidewalk is hella hot in the summer.

Go barefoot at your own risk. But know the risks. Mkay.?

I question the validity of polls right now.

Who are these people that are responding?

Yeah this images illustrate what I mean by a building having the same visual angle as a person.

In this case, it's actually about half. But you get what I mean.

Every time I go to the dollar tree and it's in stock I buy like 5 of them.

Still less expensive than 1 tube of sensodyne.

It's not as minty. But does the job.

Stock up when you find it.

And yeah. I too will get sores even from using the regular kind for a few days. I think I've gotten more sensitive to it since I started avoiding it.

My grand pappy swears that just brushing with baking soda (and water) is best. I tried that though and gagged on the taste and texture.

Y'all remember the supreme brick ?

You can still buy one. I guess ...

Hey I'm a perception researcher.

In the real world we call this visual angle or retina angle

You can calculate the visual angle of an object based on its distance from the eye and dimensions.

If you want to create another object that "looks" the same size but is at a different distance, you use the same formula but instead you input the distance and visual angle and then it gives you the new dimensions needed for both objects to "look" the same size. (Project into the retina at the same size)

This is actually part of an experiment I did for my dissertation where two cylinders were shown to participants. One was 90cm away. The other 80cm. But the "looked" identical in size. (They had to tell me which was closer without size influencing their judgment).

When it comes to movement. The math for this might be a little more tricky as I'm pretty sure it's proportional changes.

I'll be honest, my knowledge of this is lacking (calculus). But I'm open to helping you figure it out.

I also am not familiar enough with blender to help you do this on blender. Only in real life. I mostly use blender for sculpting 3d models for printing. So you would have to figure out how to translate my help to blender.

Honestly this sounds like a pretty cool optical illusion.

I do have an excel sheet I created that I put the formulas in that make it easy to make two objects at different distances have the same retina angle.

So let's say I have a cube that's 2x2x2cm. And it's 50cm away. I first calculate the visual angle of 2cm height at 50cm.

Then I use this information and make it so the object would be at 100cm away. How big does the cube now need to be , to still have the same visual angle. ?

My formula will tell you.

If you are interested I can give it for you and explain how to use it.

There are online calculators for visual angle but none let you use a secondary one to create a matching (in retina angle) item at a different distance. So mine will be very useful to you for that purpose.

There is also some discrepancy issue with what is called lens length. And this factors heavily into virtual spaces.

I'll go into that later with you.

People are influenced by slight changes in size.

And bigger is interpreted in one specific way. "It's closer". Which in your situation would make the object appear to get closer to the camera. So this is actually a big deal to make sure it's projected perfectly.

Here is a photo depicting visual angle. Basically the big E and the smaller E that is closer will project at the same size. The small E that is farther will project smaller in angle than the same dimensions small E that's closer.

Another image. This shows how two objects that are the same dimensions will project different visual angles based on distance.

Here is a photo of the formula. And shows that both a human and the Eiffle tower can project at same size.

I don't want to overload you with info. I'll try to remember to check my Lemmy later. I'm also in the middle of moving but I'll help if I can.

Send me a DM if you want to chat more one on one.

Yeah I avoid it for this reason. Also for anyone looking for toothpaste without it.

Sensodyne doesn't have it but it's expensive.

Some of the Toms doesn't but most does.

I found out the cheap dollar tree sensitive toothpaste doesn't have it either. So that's what I use.

It's actually pretty hard to find toothpaste without it. Hope that helps.

I couldn't come up with a clever title.

It's a plot to get re elected.

Nothing else.

Fuck politicians and their sleezy ethics.

Let's hope they do a mutually assured destruction of each other.

The egos are big enough.

Generally the nms community is pretty friendly and inclusive.

It's one of the few games where women aren't too worried about their gender being known. Other players will still generally help you out or do nexus missions with you regardless. I've only ever been cussed out once by a sexist and after some other players heard about it there was some justice carried out. The greater community doesn't tolerate trolls or toxic players.

Im part of the facebook group and people are fairly friendly and helpful on it.

It's probably one of the least toxic gaming communities out there. I'm not surprised the community stepped up and helped the player out.

I take breaks from nms but I always come back. And it's in part due to the community.

I'm super looking forward to Light no Fire.

Hopefully the same vibe in the community.

"Cloth" on Molotov cocktail is made from a bread tie. Otherwise you will also need glue, jump rings , earring hooks and an eyelet screw. You could probably use a bit of wire instead of the eyelet screw if you have that instead.

Prints fast and easy.

Free and commercial free too. https://makerworld.com/models/1392048

These are symbols. I'm not advocating for vandalism.

Honestly I got the idea from games I play that have bricks and Molotovs.

Im not promoting their use. They are symbols of feelings that many of us are having right now. Just like the guillotine.

But we aren't going around building guillotines. At present, Ive not seen any riots in the U.S nor use of either of these except on Nazi cars on dealership lots.
