I'm sure we can find a middle ground, yes.

That book, along with Animal Farm, should be a mandatory book to read in school.

I really hate what this country has become.

From governments who are doing evening else but the right thing, just to get re-elected in 4 years, to the radicalisation of conservatives, to the sheer lack of empathy all around. I don't feel like I belong here anymore. I feel like I'm the one who's crazy.

I understand your point and it's a good argument. But I gotta tell ya... I REALLY miss having a few months of where I can play and just live my life and do what I love. I learned some important life lessons during that break that you just wouldn't get being in school all year round.

I think we should leave the kids alone for a couple months per year and let them live. Life isn't just about work.

Right???

That's why I buy a lot of used stuff now or repair the ones I got.

Repair shops will be like "a new one'll cost less" and I'm like "don't care, fix it."

I really hope my early 2000's Sony Bravia 720p tiny ass TV never dies on me. It's a dumb TV but has all the connections for retro gaming consoles.

When will people learn to never buy smart devices.

Who controls the past now, controls the future.

Who controls the present now, controls the past.

Plus I like how they have the Homebrew packaging system to install pretty much anything you need.

Windows has something similar with chocolatey but it's just not as complete. It's not *nix apps either.

The world is so fucked up. I feel just so fucking crushed by the weight of despair from what's happening in the world.

Why are people so fucking cruel?

That plus probably being exposed to covid. Apparently it has really bad effects on the brain and ability to learn.

The US have a monopoly on credit card payments with Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Diners Club, etc.

Even with online payment systems like PayPal, GPay, Apple Pay.

The only Canadian option that I know of is the new Shop Pay, which is owned by Shopify. (And we all know the founder CEO, Tobias Lutke is a far-right fascist traitor who loves the idea of being a 51st state.)

Right now Visa and Mastercard are controlling what stores can sell, and what services can be provided. Censoring online content, like asking Steam and Itch.io to remove certain games.

What are examples of alternatives in other countries? I know that Japan, for example, has their own independent ones, I think?

Do you think they might be refused by American companies in order to keep their monopoly?

I'd like to know what you think.

This is ridiculous. How can we, as Canadians, let this happen? Let a whole nation starve to death like this?

Let's all flood our MP's phone lines and let them know that what is happening is immoral, and definitely is a Genocide, and that we must pressure the Israeli government to cease fire and let the humanitarian aid through, or face severe sanctions.

Just a five minute call you guys. If we all do it, it might actually have a real impact. And tell your family members, your relatives and your friends to do it too. Share the message!

Let's try to save the Gazans from starving to death.

I've already configured my piefed account to hide them in the web version. But they still show up in Interstellar. And there doesn't seem to be any potion to hide them in the app.

Pendant ce temp, l'hôpital flambant neuf de Pierre Legardeur, qui dessert l'assomption, la circonscription de François Legault, s'est vu approuvé encore des millions pour l'agrandir.

Hello, I want to use a PGP key with my Proton mail account.

I was wondering how using PGP works exactly. Does it encrypt the whole email message? Or is it only a signature to prove it's origin?

How does it affect recipients if they don't have my public key? Or how do I share that key securely?
