It depends, it may not be. TOS are not as ironclad as they appear.
Weird thing is that although the app no longer crashes, the usernames don't appear.
Upon futher testing disabling Hide username in account shortcut fixes the issue without having to recreate my profile.
Settings shortcut: Security > Hide username in account picker
When it happens, I use my browser and the link handler to fix the issue. (It happened again)
My subscribed feed on discuss.tchncs.de crashes the app. Except making this comment fixed the issue?

I was able to sign up for it in Google Play, then I was able to update to the Beta after being accepted by going to the app page in Google Play.
I've been using Samsung Dex or Windows 11's Phone Link to open the app on my desktop.
Well I guess a benefit of having the Blazers be so bad is that home game tickets are $15 now...
