Great for you! My only reasons to stay stuck with Windows are 1. anti-cheat and 2. niche programs that don't work correctly under Linux because they use several Windows programs in daisy-chain

Wondering how will F2P games with anti-cheat react to the news. Knowing that much of their player base may jump ship to Linux to avoid the subscription fees, will they relent and start using less invasive anti-cheat programs, or will they try to adapt specific versions of Wine / Proton to work in rooted mode?

Currently using Revanced, I'm hoping to see a way to actually integrate my Google account with something else, in a similar manner to what SmartTube is somehow allowed to do.

My only issue with Newpipe is that I can't sync my "watch later" list with Google's servers. That, and I can't reply to comments straight from the app. Otherwise I'd probably be using either that or Piped.

Calling it already, they're only moving to Steam to aid in the anti-monopoly argument so they can sell themselves to Microsoft

I'd love to use it on my smartphone as well... problem is the interface was designed to react only to directional buttons, not to touch inputs. I wonder if somebody can manage to add the ability in the source code?

Genshin being paid by Apple to withhold 120 FPS from other devices (and controller support from other mobile devices), plus their invasive anti-cheat, plus the fact that Mihoyo is a Chinese company (which makes the aforementioned anti-cheat even more scary to touch) makes me not want to touch the game with a ten-mile pole.

Correction: Rust doesn't run properly on Linux because the developers fear an uptick on cheaters caused by EAC being less invasive on Linux than on Windows.

I've gradually gone from being peeved at Proton for not being able to support certain brands of anti-cheat, to actively avoiding games with anti-cheat solutions that are fundamentally incompatible with Proton.

Heck's sake, Ballmer hexed that one on Stallman, with all that saying that "Linux is a cancer" and all that

Not only have I cancelled them almost a decade ago - I don't even watch series or movies anymore, and barely listen to music outside of the radio. I'm disgusted with the many crimes committed by Big Media and want to have as little as possible to do with it.

In my native Latin America we have this saying, "ladrón que roba a ladrón tiene cien años de perdón" ("a thief that steals from a thief has a hundred years of forgiveness") and... yeah guess it may apply here
