Yup. There's definitely a lot more inherent trust strangers have for you when perceived as a woman.

Gotcha. Did the surgery end up costing much?

Hang in there. Hopefully therapy will make things more bearable in the meantime.

Still haven't gotten total body fat redistribution. Impatient for it to finish already. All of my pants are getting too big for me, so good sign I guess.

Why did you choose to get a metoidoplasty with no vaginectomy? How's recovery so far

Yeah bro you pass well. Coming from a fellow trans guy who micro analysises passing out of habit. Even your hands look like a dude's.

I went to a yearly family event and felt much more comfortable in myself as opposed to last time I went. Wasn't as self conscious and standoffish as I used to be. Gender dysphoria isn't the only thing occupying my mind at all hours now. It's great.

I've heard that before. Makes sense to me. In that case you can't use the "if your maternal grandfather is bald then you're likely to be bald as well" rule since there's the mother's and father's X chromosome to work with as opposed to just the mother's. Lucky me, both sides of the family are very bald 😑.

I have freckles aplenty when I get in the sun. Bad thing about sun freckling is i'm very prone to sunburn.

Somebody else mentioned that the ones i'm getting without sun exposure sound more like small moles and I think they're right. Now I have both.

I don't mind them either. I just wasn't expecting T do do that

Rule 3 (lemmy.blahaj.zone)
submitted 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) by cowboycrustation@lemmy.blahaj.zone to c/trans@lemmy.blahaj.zone

This is a reminder to follow rule three. Rule three says not to post negative news articles without a call to action or way to help.

Firstly, these posts attract the wrong kind of crowd. It tends to get into insult and negativity territory real fast. They get a lot more engagement from outsiders, and that leaves more chance for shitty things to be thrown at members of our community.

Secondly, these posts affect trans people's mental health negatively. If there's nothing we can do to help, it makes no sense to constantly consume media like that. It makes life feel hopeless. Digital self-harm is real and a problem for many of us.

There are many places to consume this media, and frankly it is rather hard to avoid in online trans spaces. This community is not the place to post them.

If your post is found to violate rule three, it will be removed.

Before you post a news article, think "How would this make other trans people feel? Does it promote anger, hopelessness, or negative reactions? Does it have a way to change this situation for the better?"

It doesn't just have to be "oh I'm a man/woman/enby." What qualities do you have or want to obtain as your gender? How do you express yourself? What does your gender feel like?

I'd like to grow my hair out more when the T starts to kick in. I've had my hair cut as short as can be without looking like a buzz cut. I generally pass well with this haircut.

Problem is, I'm not passionate about the cut. It's fine I guess but I don't feel attractive or self expressive with it. Definitely would rather pass than have a haircut I love, but there'll come a time where I can experiment more without risking my passing. I've got nice, wavy hair and it seems like it's going to waste being so short.

Any of you fellas have suggestions for long-ish haircuts/styles that are still very masculine? I've always been captivated by 60/70s men's fashion, hair included, but I'm open to other things too.

How do I not eat a shit ton of food every day because of my increased appetite? I feel bloated all of the time nowadays as well. Any advice on this is welcome.
