Good. Fuck Walmart.

And the world watches and does nothing about it.
This shit makes me SO MAD. Real people are being treated like nonhumans, like their lives don't matter. I could easily be one of those women, just dead. Dead for no goddamned reason.
I thought this was weird (insidious?) as well.
So what’s the purpose of the public support of Trump, then? Like, what’s the agenda of public support and private fear? There has to be a reason for not speaking up and ending this madness.
I did not notice that! Sounds like a deliberate falsification of data that totally furthers the agenda of Newsweek.
Nothing to see here. All is normal and fine. No need to worry.
You can vote on its political leaning as a reader without logging in. I just did it myself. I marked it neutral.
So that meter is just showing how the conservative readers’ brains are interpreting actual facts, meaning “facts I don’t like are liberal.” Which…is asinine.
I’m not talking about that. I don’t know enough about that situation to have an opinion. I was referring to the fact that the CEO of a company is attempting with reasonable assumption of success to control the actual judicial system of an entire state to bend to his will.
That’s fucked.
Her tirade is unhinged, but MAGA’s constant repetition of the same exact false narratives about everyone from other countries is really insidious.
Repetition is important for getting into people’s memories. Repetition makes things feel true, even if they’re not. Even if someone knows it’s false the first time they hear it, they may unconsciously start to believe it after a few repetitions. The information becomes easier to recall than the actual truth.
I don’t know what point I’m trying to get at here, but this is the aspect of this news story that has made me the most uncomfortable. Just the reminder that the far-right knows this and they’re using it to their advantage. They’re repeating obvious falsehoods, but the rate and intensity at which they’re saying them is alarming.
So…not to be dramatic or anything, but this sounds really fucking bad.
No single person should have this much power. It goes against nature.
If this arrest doesn't happen, democracy is one step closer to the grave.
A lot of shit has happened to destroy democracy so far (has anyone been keeping a list?), but if billionaires see that they can now buy votes, nothing will stop them from doing it over and over again. We will be Russia.
