Yeah. If you go through the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA), you get baptized, given communion, and get confirmed all at the same time on Easter. Having a sponsor is part of the sacrament of confirmation.

At least that’s the way my church growing up did it. I’m sure there are exceptions for extenuating circumstances and differences across countries.

They are kinda like that. If you aren’t born in the Catholic Church, it’s kind of a pain to get in. You have to do classes for at least a year and have someone sponsor you. It makes sense - they take their belief seriously and want to make sure that people joining know what they’re getting into

Costa Rica! The biodiversity and abundance of nature is astoundingly beautiful.

Eh, not as a kid. I got a phone in high school once I got my driver’s license. But yeah, parents are a blast, huh?

How are you feeling about cops and the government these days?

I mean, correct me if I’m wrong, but aren’t Nature and its subject-specific varieties considered some of the most reputable and prestigious scientific publications?

Yeah, my parents made us leave our cell phones on the kitchen counter so they could read our texts every night, and they installed software on our computers that took screenshots every 5 seconds.

I wonder why I have issues with authority figures and privacy?

“Gruntled”! The wonderful opposite of disgruntled

And “gruntling” is an excellent old-timey word for baby pigs

Yes, but that would mean that logic has any bearing on what the Supreme Court decides to do

Pretty good! I got my estrogen prescription from Planned Parenthood! It was surprisingly easy. The people there were all super nice and really good about my name and pronouns. The only downside was the “protestor” who tried to tell me about other places for healthcare “for women and meneye roll

Now I just need to figure out how to give myself injections. Slightly nervous about that, since I’ve never done it before and don’t want to fuck up my dose.

That’ll have to wait a little while though, because I’m going on vacation with my wife’s family. Not incredibly excited about that, because while the vacation will be nice, I’m not out to any of them yet. My mother in law is nosy and starting to pry about my shaving, painted nails, long hair etc. And I know the misgendering is going to wear on me, but it’s not their fault. I’m determined to have a good relaxing time as much as possible though!

Pretty good! I’m off of work for the next week, and I got my prescription for estrogen from Planned Parenthood this week. They were super friendly and helpful! Now I just have to learn how to give myself injections lol

This is awesome, thank you for your hard work! Lack of Voyager support for Piefed was the only thing holding me back - piefed.blahaj.zone, here I come!

Hi y’all! Do you have any advice on how to start building a wardrobe of femme clothing?

I’m starting to feel braver and want to start wearing girl clothes out in public more. The problem is 1) I have next to no girl clothes, just the few affirming things I wear around the house, and 2) I am overwhelmed by the amount of options I have and don’t know where to start.

Historically, I’ve dressed more workwear (flannel, denim, leather) in the winter, and more normcore (solid color tees and chino shorts) in the summer.

I’m not sure how to translate those into feminine clothes, if I even want to. I really more so want to take the opportunity to find a more expressive style (I always disliked how few options men are given when it comes to fashion), but I still feel like I need a few kind of “core” outfits that I can easily mix and match, like a capsule wardrobe.

I also expect there to be an awkward phase as my body changes and I start to figure out my style, but I’d prefer to not make any glaring faux pas either.

Any advice is greatly appreciated 😊
