not too surprising, I doubt hockey is popular in china and canada produces a lot of hockey talents so makes sense a lot of them are playing in a russian league

as a side note honestly really wish i was gifted athletically, i know this is was originally about a Russian hockey league but if I was good at basketball i could play for the CBA and move to China :cri:

the population has to grin and bear it. this is the terrible truth of anti-colonial resistance where the colonizers hold by far more military and economic power: you must be willing to bear terrible terrible hardships to defeat your oppressors, who are usually used to living in a comfy, privileged position and are unwilling to bear the same kind of burden when they can fuck off back to their home country. Eventually their military and economy will collapse because the soldiers fighting in it lose morale and begin to lose cohesion as a fighting force, and as the economic conditions stagnate and worsen the benefit of this colonial oppression continues to weaken, which further weakens their military. the bet of a resistance force is that the occupying state will eventually collapse before the the oppressed people either turn on the resistance or everyone dies in the absolute worst case scenario. it's more complicated for a settler-colony (which is part of why it is now considered a war crime to settle territories you are occupying), because it can change this dynamic and make the colonial regime less likely to fall. I admit I was a little worried eventually the entity would be able to toughen its military and population up when it became clear this was potentially extensial, but with the laughable attempts at invading lebanon I'm much less worried, their internal contradictions still seem to be holding strong and their military is dogshit (outside of the airforce) and unwilling to suffer casualties just like it has been for decades. and the way israelis really seem to take psychic damage from like 2 rockets being launched at one of their cities I dont think the population will handle all of their infrastructure being bombed to smithereens well at all and will really start to flee the country en masse. I will look for it later but there is a vietnamese communist with a very relevant quote about this whole dynamic if anyone remembers the quote I'm talking about please link it.

but I'm envisioning trying to stop the spread at international points of travel, so helping them do quarantine with large amounts of testing in cities with airports and ports etc. I dont actually know how hard this would be or if it would be enough just sptballing.

on the flipside as china helps african nations develop I wonder if there will ever come a point where western countries will become the biggest obstacle to pandemic control or if african nations will end up doing the same dumb half measures the west ended up doing. probably depends on how many end up being socialist or at the very least socialist aligned I suppose (and presupposing climate change and or some mega death pandemic doesnt wipe us out before then of course)

yeah but if the west cared would it be impossible to get the tests and other infrastructure necessary to african nations and stop the spread in the cities before it becomes impossible to stop it in the rural areas?

Your average USians does not give two shits about Palestinians

this is true, but if the race ends up being very tight in michigan to her other fuck ups the muslim community there could really fuck her over with her absolute refusal to even throw the uncommitted the tiniest, most pathetic of bones.

he did a lot for the revolution, if he had been able to subsume himself to the will of the party he would have done a lot more too. if trots could be a 1/10 as effective as their idol the socialist movement will be a lot better off.

good luck to you and your comrades. stay as safe as you can while doing what you need to do. praying the trots use this to their advantage well from what you've told me many hopes are riding on them right now.

very very little activity, most of this site really does not like sports. It's something I don't quite understand, this is a phenomenon I've noticed in real life too most of the socialists I've met really do not like sports, neither playing nor watching. One time when we were planning a social get together with another org I suggested we kick a soccerball around or throw a frisbee and got looked at like I had grown a 3rd head. like it's not even just because we're nerds, people fucking hate esports on here too for the most part

glad your sibling is going to safety, I'm sure that must of been nerve wracking for them to be so stubborn about it.
