The spoken language of the native people of the Philippines; still one of the country's official languages and spoken by a majority of the population.
Understanding that all "valuations" any more are made up bullshit that are at least equal parts fortune telling, economics, and market manipulation: is South Park really worth $3 billion and 10 years?
It's looking hazy on whether the USA will even exist in 10 years, and to paraphrase from Dan Olsen's comments on the AVGN, "[South Park] is not a load bearing pillar of reality." I haven't watched it in years, no one I know talks about it anymore, I don't see many memes or references to it anymore.
I think their vulture capital new owners might have a point: promising any media venture support for 10 years in the current volatile economy and media landscape would be foolish.
Though in particular, all this leagalese is interfering with people's ability to even watch the show, which would damage the brand and lower it's valuation. I point back to my "market manipulation" comment above. Either way, I think they've been and are continuing to be played by the market and the vultures.
Reminds me of the Disco Elysium and Subnautica debacles that have been going on. Vultures have figured out the strategy for stealing IP from successful creators and then pushing them out. I mean they always have, but its like a solid, standard playbook that they're all following now.
I'm the king of Lemmy anarchists and I approve this mesage!
Thanks! Really appreciate you digging up this 4 month old post to slander me out of the blue.
Yes, yes, most wise indeed
It ain't the ingredients and it ain't the cauldron
Which come together to make a potion
Its about the knowledge, the right gods to call on
And geting your back into proper mixxing motion
Really putting the "ass" in comparison there. Also, if a person say... wrote a best selling beloved children's book series, but then heel-turned into a piece of shit, it absolutely does ruin their entire body of work for a lot of people.
Like, this happens, what is the comic even talking about?
Ive never seen these before and I'm enthralled! The music and visual style reminds me a lot of Cruelty Squad. Is there an accepted name for this "genre"? It's almost like pre-AI slop but with a pedal-to-the-floor surrealism that elevates it tremendously.
It gets worse actually. You can define a number system using any power of 2 amount of i-like units in a similar relationship to quaternions using the Cayley-Dickson construction
Fascinatingly, you lose some property of the algebra at each step. Quaternions aren't commutative: ABC != CBA. Octonians aren't associative: (AB)C != A(BC). Once you get into 16 i's with subscripts, it really gets crazy.
(Also, I just got the joke. Damnit @HappyFrog@lemmy.blahaj.zone your serious answer threw me off!)
Is this gain?
